PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (November 20, 2008)—The Calvert County Department of Community Resources will host a panel discussion on services to homeless persons on Monday, December 8 at 2 p.m. in the first-floor meeting room at Courthouse Square, located at 205 Main Street in Prince Frederick. Local government agencies and non-profit organizations that provide homeless services will participate in the event.
The purpose of the panel discussion is to increase the awareness of services available to the homeless population, which is particularly vulnerable during winter months. The event will also provide a forum for those in the community who provide homeless assistance, including faith communities, to address questions and concerns.
Agencies invited to participate include the Calvert County Health Departments Mental Health Division and Core Services Agency, Calvert County Substance Abuse Services, Calvert County Department of Social Services, Housing Authority of Calvert County and the Calvert County Sheriffs Office. Invitations are also being sent to representatives of key organizations that serve the homeless.
