MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Nov. 20, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

MOTORCYCLE THEFT: On Monday, November 17, 2008 at 6:50 am, Tpr. J. Gibson responded to the Faith Bible Church in the 26000 block of Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville for the reported theft of motor vehicle. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, 37, of California who advised unknown suspect(s) stole her black and red 2006 Suzuki GSXR 1000 motorcycle, Maryland Registration: PRECUS and VIN: JS1GT76A062113243. The investigation continues.

ASSAULT: On Monday, November 17, 2008 at 6:08 pm, TFC R. Rezza responded to the 27000 block of North Sandgates Road in Mechanicsville for the reported disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, 52, of Mechanicsville who advised she was assaulted by James Stuart Yates, 45, of Mechanicsville. Contact was made with Mr. Yates. He was taken into custody and later transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

BURGLAR ALARM: On Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 3:08 am, Tpr. M. Adams responded to the Cutting Edge Salon located in the 22000 block of Pope Street in Leonardtown for the reported burglar alarm. Upon arrival, Tpr. Adams observed a window had been broken and the exterior of the building was secured. A female respondent arrived and a check of the building's interior was made and nothing appeared to have been taken. Neighborhood checks were made with negative results. The investigation continues.

WARRANT ARREST: On Monday, November 17, 2008 at 5:15 am, Joseph Cephus Harrod, Jr., 22, of Prince Frederick was arrested by Tpr. M. Adams on an outstanding bench warrant (T3-13602) for failing to appear in District Court in Leonardtown on August 29, 2008. The original charge was trespassing posted property. Mr. Harrod was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Monday, November 17, 2008 at 11:20 am, Megan Jean Duval, 22, of Leonardtown was arrested by Tpr. C. Evans on an outstanding bench warrant (T3-13709) for failing to appear in District Court in Leonardtown on November 14, 2008. The original charge was driving on a suspended license. Ms. Duval was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 11:40 am, Daniel Alan McClure, 26, of La Plata was arrested by Tpr. J. Gibson on an outstanding bench warrant (T3-13711) for failing to appear in District Court in Leonardtown on November 14, 2008. The original charges were speeding, failed to display registration card and driving on suspended license. Mr. McClure was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.
