St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Nov. 18, 2008) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER: Michael Frances Parlett, 23, of Charlotte Hall, was served with a final protective order on September 23 ordering him not have contact in person, by telephone, in writing, or by any other means with the petitioner of the order. On November 16, Mr. Parlett contacted the petitioner by telephone. Michael Parlett was arrested and charged with violating the conditions of the protective order.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On November 16, John Solomon Clayton, 58, of Valley Lee, was stopped for a traffic violation. Mr. Clayton provided Deputy T. Snyder a false name. Deputy Snyder observed a copper Brillo pad, commonly used in cocaine smoking devices in the center console of the vehicle in plain view. A search of Mr. Clayton and the vehicle revealed a glass smoking device with suspected cocaine residue. Mr. Clayton was arrested and while in transport to the Detention Deputy Snyder determined Mr. Clayton had given him a false name. John Clayton was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia, and providing a false name to a police officer.
