MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Nov. 13, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DWI/DUI, LEAVING SCENE: On Sunday, November 9, 2008 at 3:26 pm, Gary Martin Davis, 46, of Dameron was arrested by Tpr. M. Pitcher for leaving the scene of an accident and DWI/DUI. The St. Mary's Emergency Communications Center simulcast the report of a hit & run accident involving a gray Jaguar which occurred in Lexington Park. Tpr. Pitcher located the vehicle in the 26000 block of Poppy's Way in Lexington Park. Contact was made with Mr. Davis who was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Monday, November 10, 2008 at 1:12 am, Aurielle Nicole Janeese Moten, 19, of Chaptico was arrested by Cpl. J. Linger for possession of marijuana. She was a passenger in a brown Chevrolet Cavalier when stopped on Coltons Point Road at Chaptico Road in Coltons Point for not being restrained by her seat belt. Contact was made with the occupants of the Chevrolet and an odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Ms. Moten was found to be in possession of a glassine bag of marijuana seeds. She was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On Monday, November 10, 2008 at 8:37 am, Tpr. E. Page responded to the 21000 block of Three Notch Road in Lexington Park for the reported malicious destruction of property to a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant, 54, of Lexington Park, who advised unknown suspect(s) scratched both bumpers and the hood of his 2007 white Ford Mustang in addition to breaking the passenger side windshield wiper. Damage to the vehicle is estimated to be $4,000.00. The investigation continues.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Monday, November 10, 2008 at 8:43 pm, Maria Kristen Smith, 22, of Callaway was arrested by Tpr. J. Gibson for possession of marijuana. Ms. Smith was operating a silver Mitsubishi Galant when she was stopped on Three Notch Road at Park Hall Road in Lexington Park for failing to drive in a single lane. Upon contact with Ms. Smith, a strong odor of burnt marijuana was detected emitting from the vehicle. Ms. Smith was found to be in possession of a partially burnt marijuana cigarette. She was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review.

HARBORING FUGITIVE: On Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at 12:53 am, TFC R. Rezza and TFC K. Greggs responded to the 38000 Van Ward Road in Avenue in an attempt to locate Theodore Eustace Kotowski, 48, of Avenue in reference to an outstanding warrant. Upon arrival, contact was made with Mary Madeline Wood, 50, of Lexington Park. She advised Mr. Kotowski was not home. TFC Rezza heard movement inside the residence and attempted to go inside when Ms. Wood stood in his way. TFC Rezza proceeded and found Mr. Kotowski hiding inside a bedroom closet. Mr. Kotowski was taken into custody for the warrant. Ms. Wood was also taken into custody for obstruction and hindering a police officer, as well as harboring a fugitive. Ms. Wood also willingly violated a protective order by sharing the dwelling with Mr. Kotowski. Ms. Wood was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review. Mr. Kotowski was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was served an outstanding warrant by TFC Greggs.

WARRANT ARREST: On Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 9:48 am, Tpr. M. Adams responded to the 24000 block of McIntosh Road in Hollywood in an attempt to locate Kenneth Long, Jr., 21, of Hollywood in reference to an outstanding bench warrant (T3-13683) issued by the District Court in Prince Frederick. The original charges were two counts of DWI/DUI. Mr. Long was located and taken into custody and transported to Calvert County where he was released to TFC Merkelson, MSP Prince Frederick.

WARRANT ARREST: On Monday, November 10, 2008 at 12:20 pm, Daniel Bryan Pajak, 28, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. E. Page on an outstanding bench warrant (t3-13609) for failing to follow conditions of probation. The original charge was DUI. Mr. Pajak was served a second bench warrant (t3-13624) for failing to appear in District Court in Leonardtown on September 5, 2008. The original charges were seat belt violation, driving while revoked and failing to display registration card. Mr. Pajak was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Monday, November 10, 2008 at 7:35 pm, Steven Maurice Grove, 44, of St. Leonard was arrested by Tpr. J. Hardesty on an outstanding bench warrant (T3-13699) for violation of probation and failing to follow conditions of probation. The original charge was driving on a suspended license and DUI. Mr. Grove was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at 8:05 pm, Juinel Lyniece Steward, 19, of Leonardtown was arrested by TFC E. Evans on an outstanding bench warrant (T3-13703) for failing to appear in District Court in Leonardtown on November 7, 2008. The original charges were two counts of malicious destruction of property scheme over $500. Mr. Steward was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 6:08 pm, Shannyn E. Dulemba, 25, of California was arrested by TFC E. Evans on an outstanding bench warrant (T3-13685) for failing to appear in District Court in Leonardtown on November 6, 2008 for a violation of probation hearing. The original charge was assault 2nd degree. Ms. Dulemba was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review.
