Second Calvert Man Dies From Nov. 2 Shooting in P.G. County


(Nov. 12, 2008)—Larry Cornell Johnson, 28, of the 5600 block of Long Beach Road, Saint Leonard, died at a local hospital on Friday, November 7, from an injury received as a result of a shooting in Prince George's County on Nov. 2, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit.

A second Calvert County man, Levar Tyran Jones, 29, of the 3700 block of Solomons Island Road, Huntingtown, died on the day of the shooting.

Police were alerted to the shootings on November 2, at approximately 1:44 a.m. P.G. County officers responded to the 3300 block of Walters Lane, Forestville, Prince George's County. Upon arrival, officers discovered the two victims with gunshot wounds.

Jones was found in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to the upper body, say police. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police say Johnson was found nearby with a gunshot wound to his upper body and transported to a local hospital where he died from his injury on Nov. 7.

Police say they are still working to identify the suspect(s) and establish a motive.
