MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Nov. 7, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) on Thursday released the following incident and arrest reports.

DUI SATURATION PATROL: On Friday, October 31, 2008, seven members of the Leonardtown Barrack participated in a DUI Saturation Patrol concentrating patrol efforts along the Rt. 235 corridor between Lexington Park and Hollywood. As a result of their enforcement efforts, troopers made 32 traffic stops and arrested six subjects for DUI. Also during the initiative, Trooper Gresko effected a large drug arrest seizing 332.20 grams of Hashish, 27 grams of marijuana, 116 grams of Hashish Oil, $10,021.72 of U.S. Currency, 2000 Cadillac Escalade, and various pieces of CDS paraphernalia.

VANDALISM OF ROAD SIGNS: On Monday, November 3, 2008 at 12:25 pm, TFC M. Moore responded to Medley's Neck Road and Chingville Road, south of Leonardtown for the reported malicious destruction of property on State highway signs. Numerous signs had green and pink paint splattered on the signs. State Highway has replaced four stop signs at Saint Andrews Church Road and Fairgrounds Road, Medley's Neck Road at Breton Beach Road, Starlight Drive and Bird Haven Road in Leonardtown. Estimated damage to the signs is $500.00. Neighborhood checks are being conducted and the investigation continues.

WARRANT ARREST: On Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 1:15 pm, Michael Anthony Dominguez, 22, of Arlington, Va. was arrested by Tpr. E. Page on an outstanding bench warrant (T3-13675) for failing to appear in district court in Frederick on February 26, 2008. The original charge was driving on a suspended license. Mr. Dominguez was served the warrant at St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was incarcerated on unrelated drug charges. Additionally, Mr. Dominguez was served a 2nd bench warrant (T3-13676) by Tpr. M. Adams for failing to pay a deferred payment of $142.50 to the district court in Rockville. The original charge was for possession of an open container. Mr. Dominguez is being held at the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 1:53 pm, Jacob Steven Traas, 23, of Ridge was arrested by TFC R. Rezza on an outstanding Arrest Warrant (T3-13670) issued by the district court in Leonardtown on October 28, 2008. The original charge was False Statement to Police Officer. Mr. Traas was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Monday, November 3, 2008 at 7:30 am, Quinten Dewitt Blackwell, 45, of St. Inigoes was arrested by TFC M. Moore on an outstanding Arrest Warrant (T3-13612) issued by the district court in Leonardtown on September 5, 2008. The original charge was assault 2nd degree. Mr. Blackwell was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Monday, November 3, 2008 at 10:00 am, Lilian Maria Penna, 65, of Arlington, Va. was arrested by TFC M. Moore on an outstanding bench warrant (T3-13677) for failing to appear in district court in La Plata on October 26, 2008. The original charge was driving on a suspended license. Ms. Penna was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 9:15 am, Dale Christopher Hawkins, 51, of Scotland was arrested by TFC M. Moore on an outstanding bench warrant (T3-13673) for failing to appear in district court in Leonardtown on October 31, 2008. The original charges were driving on revoked and suspended license and attempting to flee and elude a police officer. Mr. Hawkins was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 1:10 pm, Gerald Lawrence, 57, of Callaway was arrested by TFC K. Lashley on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13647) for violation of probation for failing to follow conditions of probation. The original charge was DUI. Mr. Lawrence was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.
