St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Nov. 3, 2008) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office recently released the following incident and arrest reports.

ROBBERY: On October 29 at approximately 7:00 pm, deputies responded to a report of a robbery. Investigation revealed a male, age 15, was walking in the area of Winding Way and Oregon Way in Lexington Park when he was approached by two or more black males asking for a cigarette. The victim was struck in the head and knock to the ground. One of the suspects reached into the victim's pocket and removed a pack of cigarettes. The suspects then fled on foot. The victim was transported by ambulance to St. Mary's Hospital where he was treated and released. The primary suspect is described as a black male in his teens, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

ARREST OF ROBBERY SUSPECT: On October 29 at approximately 7:00 pm, deputies responded to a report of a robbery in area of Winding Way and Oregon Way in Lexington Park. The 15 year-old male victim was attached, knocked to the ground, and a pack of cigarettes stolen from his person. Initial information reported the possibility of multiple suspects, however; follow up information lead to a sole suspect. The other individuals at the robbery scene were witnesses. On October 30, a 14 year-old male from Lexington Park was arrested and charged as a juvenile for the robbery. Juvenile Service was contacted and assumed custody of the young man.

TRESPASSING: On October 29 Deputy First Class M. Worrey responded to the Harry Lundeberg School of Seamanship for a report of an unwanted guest. Investigation revealed James Richard Reese, 55, of no fixed address, was served with written notice to leave the premises by the president of the school. Mr. Reese was still on the property when Dfc. Worrey arrived. Dfc. Worrey told Mr. Reese to leave the property and he again refused to do so. James Reese was arrested for trespassing.
