MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Oct. 23, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT: On Friday, October 17, 2008 at 2:25 pm, Tpr. M. Adams responded to the Food Lion in the 37000 block of Mt. Wolfe Road in Charlotte Hall for the reported theft under $500. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, 73, of Mechanicsville. She advised Tpr. Adams that unknown suspect(s) took her black wallet containing $111.00 in cash and various identification cards from her purse. Total loss was $123.00. Investigation continues.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 6:00 pm, Reggie Jerome Milton Berry, 32, of Hollywood was arrested by Tpr. M. Adams for possession of marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Berry was operating a black Cadillac Escalade when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit on Sotterly Road, in the area of Peaches Hide Away in Hollywood. While speaking with Mr. Berry, a strong odor of burnt marijuana was detected. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Berry was found to be in possession of a plastic bag of marijuana and a multicolored glass CDS smoking device. Mr. Berry was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

BURGLARY: On Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 10:20 pm, Tpr. M. Adams responded to the College of Southern Maryland, Leonardtown campus for the reported burglary in progress. Upon arrival, contact was made with a male employee, 43, of Mechanicsville, who advised unknown suspect(s) broke into Building A and as he was doing a walk-through an unknown male subject attempted to run from Room 204 when he was accosted by the employee. The suspect then left the school and was walking south towards Point Lookout Road. The employee advised the only property stolen were two small metal cash boxes which contained no cash. The investigation is ongoing.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at 12:04 pm, TFC M. Moore responded to the 29000 block of Barger Drive in Mechanicsville for the reported malicious destruction of property. Upon arrival, contact was with the male complainant, 60, of Mechanicsville who advised unknown suspect(s) hurled rocks in the air which struck the complainant's 2001 Chevrolet 1500 truck. The windshield of the vehicle was cracked and the roof was dented. The complainant advised this has been an ongoing problem with his vehicles being damaged by rocks. A check of the neighborhood for the suspect(s) was negative. The investigation continues.
