MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Oct. 20, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Sunday, October 14, 2008 at 1:22 pm, Eric Maurice Chase, 18, of Callaway and Joseph Xavier Young, Jr., 18, of California were arrested by Tpr. W. Jefferson for possession of marijuana. Mr. Chase was operating a green Infiniti when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit on south bound Three Notch Road, in the area of Mt. Zion Church Road in Mechanicsville. While making contact with Mr. Chase and the passenger, Mr. Young, Tpr. Jefferson observed in plain view a small plastic baggie with marijuana on the driver's side floor board. Both Mr. Chase and Mr. Young were taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where they were detained pending a bond review.

THEFT, FORGERY, PRESCRIPTION FRAUD: On Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 4:15 pm, Tammy Johnson Boyd, 36, of Mechanicsville was arrested by TFC R. Rezza for theft under $100, forgery and prescription fraud. TFC Rezza responded to the Tidewater Pharmacy in the 29000 block of Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville for the reported prescription fraud. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female employee who advised that Ms. Boyd was attempting to obtain a Percocet 7.5 mg/325, prescription medication by forging the prescription. Ms. Boyd was detained and a search incident to her arrest revealed she was in possession of a grape soda which she had partially consumed without paying in addition she had also consumed HomeLab Allergy medication without paying. Ms. Boyd was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was detained pending a bond review.

THEFT: On Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 11:32 am, Wayne Aubrey Jones, 41, of Prince Frederick was arrested by Tpr. M. Koock for Theft under $500. Tpr. Koock responded to the Belk Store in the Wildewood Shopping Center in California for the reported Theft under $500. Upon arrival, contact was made with the Loss Prevention Manager outside the store, who advised she observed Mr. Jones on a surveillance camera take items from the store and run outside towards the wooded area behind the store. A search of the area and the rear of the store found Mr. Jones hiding inside a dumpster. Mr. Jones was taken into custody and a search of his person revealed he was in possession of a bottle of men's cologne and the price tag for a Fossil watch. Mr. Jones was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was processed and detained pending a bond review.

BURGLARY, THEFT: On Thursday, October, 16, 2008 at 1:59 pm, Tpr. J. Gibson responded to the 50000 block of Fresh Pond Neck Road in Ridge for the reported burglary and theft over $500. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant, 45, of Ridge who advised at approximately 12:00 pm he realized both his ATVs were missing from the garage. Unknown suspect(s) entered his garage and took a maroon 2003 Kawasaki Prairie 360, 4 wheeler ATV, valued at $4,900.00 and a red 2003 Kawasaki Prairie 650 4 wheeler ATV, valued at $6,100.00. The complainant advised the last time he saw the ATV's was October 14, 2008 at 6:30 am. Both ATV's were entered in MILES/NCIC. Later that evening, TFC M. Moore received information as to where the 4 wheelers were located. He responded to a location on Ford Lane in Dameron and positively identified the stolen 4 wheelers. Thru further investigation, TFC M. Moore obtained the necessary information to obtain arrest warrants for Randy Aloysius Norris, 24, of Hollywood and Glenn Charles Gray, 20, of Saint Inigoes. TFC Moore was able to determine that the trailer used to transport the ATV's was stolen from Fisher Brother's Inc. in Burham, Pennsylvania which was reported stolen on October 13, 2008.

BURGLARY, THEFT:On Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 2:49 pm, a male complainant, 75, of Hollywood responded to the Leonardtown Barrack to report a burglary and theft over $500. He advised he received a telephone call from Officer Smith, of the Charles County Sheriff's Office, who contacted the complainant concerning some of his tools which were recovered at a pawn shop in Waldorf. TFC M. Moore responded to the 24000 block of Lakeland Drive in Hollywood to gather information and process the scene. TFC Moore made contact with Officer Smith, of the Charles County Sheriff's Office, who advised he had made three arrests in the case of the stolen tools. Officer Smith received a call from the pawn shop that they received tools with the complainant's name engraved in all of them. Arrested in the burglary and theft over $500.00 which occurred in Hollywood were Randy Aloysius Norris, 24, of Hollywood, and Dawn Liv Taylor, 18 of Hollywood. Glenn Charles Gray, Jr., 20, of St. Inigoes was currently incarcerated in the Charles County Detention Center and his warrant was lodged as a detainer until his release. Numerous power tools were recovered from the pawn shop in Waldorf. DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 5:26 pm, TFC R. Rezza responded to the 23000 block of Luckton Lane in Hollywood for the reported disturbance—a man threatening to shoot the mother of his children. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant about a block from the residence. She advised Steven Michael Davis, 43, of Hollywood was intoxicated and made threats towards her life. Contact was made with Mr. Davis and he was taken into custody. A Ruger semi-automatic handgun was taken from the residence for safe keeping. Mr. Davis was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged with Disorderly Conduct and held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 4:16 pm, Henry Bernard Johnson, Jr., 41, of Washington, DC was arrested by Tpr. W. Jefferson on an outstanding Arrest Warrant (T3-11808) which was issued by the District Court in Leonardtown on October 30, 2005. The original charge was Assault 2nd Degree and Reckless Endangerment. Mr. Johnson was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST:On Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 11:30 am, Thomas Austin Goldring III, 28, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. D. Brill on an outstanding Arrest Warrant (T3-12459) which was issued by the District Court in Leonardtown on October 19, 2006. The original charge was 2nd Degree Arson. Mr. Goldring was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST:On Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 6:50 pm, Kevin Lamont Leftwood, 43, of Silver Spring was arrested by TFC M. Moore on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13607) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on September 5, 2008. The original charges on the warrant are DWI/DUI. Mr. Leftwood was apprehended by the Montgomery County PD and was relayed back to St. Mary's County where he was detained pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST:On Friday, October 17, 2008 at 12:00 pm, TFC J. Fleetwood responded to the St. Mary's County Detention Center to serve a Circuit Court Warrant (T3-13650) for Violation of Probation on Edwin Jonathan Jones, 40, of Lexington Park. Mr. Jones was currently incarcerated in the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was being held on unrelated charges.
