LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Oct. 14, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER: On Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at 11:30 pm, Brian Edward Simpson, 35, of California was arrested by Tpr. M. Adams for Violation of Protective Order. Tpr. Adams responded to a residence in Clements in an attempt to locate Mr. Simpson in regards to an outstanding warrant which was previously reported. An open Protective Order was in effect whereby Mr. Simpson was not to have contact with his father. Mr. Simpson was in violation of the order and taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center.
ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 10:34 am, William Robert Hidey, 41, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. C. Evans for possession of Marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Hidey was operating a black Cadillac on north bound Three Notch Road in Hollywood, in the area of Beck Road when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit. Tpr. Evans made contact with Mr. Hidey and a strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Hidey was found to be in possession of two small baggies of marijuana and a purple and silver metal CDS smoking device containing marijuana. Mr. Hidey was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
BURGLARY: On Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 11:00 am, Tpr. J. Pilkerton responded to the 19000 block of Three Notch Road in Lexington Park for the reported Check Welfare and 911 Hang-up. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male victim, 83, of Lexington Park. He advised that Montreece Dionshanae Mitchell, 22, of St. Inigoes entered the residence without his permission. Contact was then made with Ms. Mitchell and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from her breath. She advised she was an employee of the St. Mary's Nursing Center. Contact was made with an employee of the Nursing Center and it was confirmed that Ms. Mitchell was making up the story of her being an employee. Ms. Mitchell was taken into custody and charged with burglary. A search of her person incident to the arrest revealed she had in her custody a key to the victim's car. Ms. Mitchell was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review.
SUSPENDED LICENSE, ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 11:24 am, Gene David Meier, 46, of Woodbridge, Va. was arrested by Tpr. G. Thompson for possession of marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Meier was operating a black Toyota Tacoma on south bound Three Notch Road in Hollywood, north of Hollywood Road when he was stopped for not being restrained by a seat belt. A routine MVA check revealed Mr. Meier's driving privileges were suspended. Mr. Meier was taken into custody and placed under arrest for driving on a suspended license. A search incident to the arrest revealed Mr. Meier was in possession of a small baggie of Marijuana and a CDS smoking device. Mr. Meier was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
ASSAULT: On Friday, October 10, 2008 at 12:33 pm, Ryan Andrew Murray, 23, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. M. Pitcher for Assault 2nd Degree. Tpr. Pitcher responded to the 41000 block of Alvey Stone Lane in Mechanicsville for the reported disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female victim, 18, of Mechanicsville, who advised she had been assaulted by Ryan Murray. During the course of the investigation both parties were interviewed and it was determined that Mr. Murray did assault the victim. Mr. Murray was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT: On Friday, October 10, 2008 at 1:34 pm, Tpr. G. Thompson responded to the 45000 Tippett Road in Hollywood for the reported Domestic Assault. Upon arrival, contact was made with the suspect, Michael Paul Ptaszynski, 32, of Hollywood and an odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath. He advised he was in a verbal argument with girlfriend. After interviewing both parties about the disturbance, Mr. Ptaszynski was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.
ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 12:06 am, Vashon Lamar Hayden, 25, of Lexington Park was arrested by Cpl. A. Malaspina for possession of cocaine and CDS paraphernalia. Cpl. Malaspina responded to the reported disturbance in the 46000 block of Lucca Way in Lexington Park. Upon arrival, Cpl. Malaspina stopped a black passenger car leaving the residence. Contact was made with the passenger, Mr. Hayden. While Mr. Hayden was being interviewed outside of the vehicle, he was observed throwing two small plastic baggies of cocaine. The cocaine was recovered and Mr. Hayden was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
BENCH WARRANT: On Friday, October 10, 2008 at 9:10 am, Gary Flower, 35, of Lexington Park was extradited from York County, Pennsylvania on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13506) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on July 17, 2008. Mr. Flower was returned to Maryland and the warrant was served by TFC F. Dolinger. The original charges were Malicious Destruction of Property and Alcohol Violation. Mr. Flower was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.
BENCH WARRANT: On Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 11:00 am, William Andrew Kirell, 23, of Charlotte Hall was arrested by Tpr. W. Jefferson on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13640) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Calvert County on October 8, 2008. The original charge on the warrant is possession of CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Kirell was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
