LA PLATA, Md. (Oct. 7, 2008) - The Charles County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.

STRONG-ARM ROBBERY: The Charles County Sheriff's Office is investigating a strong-arm robbery that occurred on Oct. 6 at 4:50 p.m. As a community bus came to a stop at the intersection of Davis Road and Lexington Drive in Waldorf, the victim - a 16-year-old male passenger - was using his cell phone to send a text message. The suspect approached the victim and grabbed the cell phone from the victim's hand. The suspect exited the bus and fled. The victim followed him and confronted him on Davis Road near Proctor Place. As they were arguing about the theft, another supsect approached the victim from behind and struck him several times. Both suspects then fled on foot. The suspect on the bus is described as a black male between 17 and 19 years old. He is 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs about 210 pounds and was wearing a black North Face jacket. The other supsect is black male about 18 years old. MAN CHARGED WITH DWI AND POSSESSION OF DRUGS: On Oct. 6 at 1 a.m., a Charles County Sheriff's officer initiated a traffic stop in the 5900 block of Masons Springs Road in Indian Head after observing the driver of a Dodge Caravan cross the double yellow center lines. A computer check revealed the driver, Saul Joseph Kittrell Jr., 32, of Nanjemoy, was driving on a suspended and revoked license and he appeared to be driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Kittrell was arrested and transported to the Charles County Detention Center. While being processed, he removed a small bottle containing liquid PCP from his undergarments and emptied it on the ground. Kittrell was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, DUI, DWI, and driving with a suspended/revoked license. Officer D. Almassy made the arrest.

STRONG-ARM ROBBERY: On Oct. 5 at 6:30 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to the area of Route 228 and Marsh Hawk Drive in Waldorf for the report of a citizen robbery. Investigation revealed the victim was walking down the street when the suspect approached her from behind, kicked her in the back of the leg and grabbed her purse as she fell to the ground. The suspect fled and the victim, who was not injured, called police. Officer S. Weedon is investigating.

MAN CHARGED WITH BURGLARY: On Oct. 4 at 12:07 a.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to the 5900 block of Walleye Court in Waldorf for the report of a breaking and entering. Investigation revealed the suspects broke into the house by kicking in a side door. Once inside, one of the suspects walked toward a bedroom. A resident heard the noise and yelled for help. The suspects fled the scene and the victims called police. Responding officers observed one of the suspects running down the street and apprehended him after a brief struggle. The suspect, a 16 - year - old male, was charged with first-degree burglary, failure to obey a lawful order and possession of marijuana. The other suspect escaped. Officer R. Kimble is handling the investigation.

STRONG-ARM ROBBERY: On Oct. 3 at 10 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to the parking lot of North Point High School in Waldorf for the report of a citizen robbery. Investigation revealed the victim, a 13-year-old male, was in the parking lot when he was approached by four suspects. Two of the suspects grabbed the victim's arms and demanded his necklace; the remaining suspects acted as lookouts. The victim complied and the suspects fled. The victim, who was not injured, went home and called police. Officer B.A. Virts is handling the investigation.

MAN ARRESTED FOR CARRYING CONCEALED DEADLY WEAPON: On Oct. 3 at 9:40 a.m., a Charles County Sheriff's officer observed a man acting suspicious at a convenience store on Acton Lane in Waldorf. The man walked in and out of the business several times and appeared to be "casing" the store. As the officer approached, the man entered a car and drove away. The officer initiated a traffic stop and found a loaded 380 caliber handgun tucked in the subject's waistband. The subject, Kwasi Louard-Clark, 22, of Waldorf, was arrested and charged with carrying a deadly weapon. Officer J. Timko made the arrest.

FIRST-DEGREE ASSAULT: On Oct. 1 at 8:58 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to Jimmy's Corner Tavern at 16740 Prince Frederick Road in Hughesville for the report of an assault. Investigation revealed the victim, 41, and the suspect, 43, were engaged in a physical altercation when the suspect struck the victim with an unknown object, causing a laceration. The suspect fled prior to police arrival and the victim was treated for non life- threatening injuries. Officer C. Walden is continuing the investigation.

COPPER WIRE STOLEN: On Sept. 30 at 8:44 a.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to the 5000 block of Piney Church Road in Waldorf for the report of a theft. Investigation revealed someone stole approximately six rolls of copper wire from a business. Officer J. Walter is investigating.
