Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Sept. 29, 2008) - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On September 22 at 9:17 p.m., Dep. Thomas Rickard conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Md. Rt. 260 eastbound and Md. Rt. 2 in Owings. The driver, later identified as William Austin Elliton, III, 19, of Dunkirk, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. He was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, a digital scale used to weigh a controlled dangerous substance, and a metal hose clamp commonly used to crush unknown pills into a powdery form to be inhaled.

THEFT: A victim reported to Dep. James Norton that unknown suspect(s) stole his mini-bike, valued at $300 sometime between September 22 at 8:45 p.m. and September 23 at 4:00 p.m. The mini-bike, of unknown make or model, is orange with red, gray and white stripes with X1 on it. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. Norton at 410-535-2800.

DOP: Dep. Moises Velasquez responded to a home on Sidewinder Lane in Lusby on September 23 at 3:17 p.m. The homeowner reported that four of the windows had been broken. The damage totaled $1000. Dep. Velasquez will continue the investigation.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: Dep. Kevin Hall was traveling on Bay Ave in the area of 9th Street in North Beach on September 23 at 7:45 p.m. when he conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. A passenger in the vehicle, a sixteen-year-old male from North Beach, was found to be in possession of a metal pipe containing trace amounts of marijuana. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia on a youth report and released to a parent.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: DFC Michael Naecker investigated a suspicious vehicle call on September 25 at 12:26 a.m. at the tennis courts at Lake Shore Drive and Cannery Road in Owings. Two occupants were observed in a parked vehicle. Jacob Matthew Hood, 20, of Owings, was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, aluminum foil formed into a smoking device, and Anthony Alfred Parks, 20, of Chesapeake Beach, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. They were both arrested and charged accordingly.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: Dep. Aaron Locke responded to the scene of a single vehicle crash on September 26 at 4:18 a.m. in the 11100 block of Mill Bridge Road in Lusby. A silver four door Hyundai was resting upside down partially in the roadway. The vehicle's two occupants were out of the overturned vehicle and walking around. The driver, later identified as Robert Samuel Gordon, 19 of Lusby, who was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital for possible head injuries, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. After being released from the hospital, he was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a glass smoking device used to inhale marijuana. The passenger of the vehicle was not injured in the crash.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: Dep. Frank Winston conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Md. Rt. 2/4 south near Ball Road in St. Leonard on September 28 at 12:26 a.m. Two passengers in the vehicle were found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Arrested were Jacob Lorenz Smith, 27, of West Friendship, charged with possession of marijuana, and Jeremy Michael Smith, 33 of Muncie, Indiana, charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a silver smoking device.
