LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Sept. 22, 2008) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office recently released the following incident and arrest reports.
ARMED ROBBERY: On Sept. 21 at approximately 11:03 p.m., law officers responded to Card Road in Lexington Park for an armed robbery. The investigation revealed that two suspects robbed a Domino's Pizza driver of an undisclosed amount of money. The suspects then fled towards Spring Valley Apartments. Through a K-9 track and additional leads, one of two suspects, Wayne Aloysius Jordan Jr., 18, of Lexington Park was apprehended. He was charged with the robbery. It was also discovered that Jordan had an open warrant through the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office for violation of probation. The second subject, Anthony George Queen, Jr., 18, of Lexington Park, is currently wanted for armed robbery and other related charges.
COMMERCIAL VEHICLE INSPECTIONS: On Sept. 17 Corporal Harold Young conducted commercial vehicle enforcement inspections in the area of Chancellor's Run Road and Great Mills Road in Lexington Park. The operation was conducted in collaboration with the Calvert County Sheriff's Office. As a result of this special operation, three commercial vehicles were placed out of service due to equipment violations. A total of 9 commercial vehicles were inspected and 4 citations written.
The Sheriff's Office conducts commercial vehicle inspections and enforcement is to ensure the commercial vehicles traveling on the roadways in St. Mary's County, Maryland comply with State size and weight laws and the federal motor carrier safety regulations. The primary focus of the inspections is the safety of all motoring public.
