St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Sept. 15, 2008)—The St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) recently released the following incident and arrest reports. BCI is an investigative team comprised of detectives from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office and the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack. The unit was established on July 1, 2003 and is based in Leonardtown, Maryland.

ARREST OF SHOOTING SUSPECT: Sheriff's deputies located Antonio Jamear Warrick, 18, at a residence in Great Mills on Sept. 12 at approximately 8 pm. He was taken into custody and St. Mary's County BCI detectives served him with a warrant for attempted murder for the Sept. 11 shooting on Flower Drive in Lexington Park. He was incarcerated at the St. Mary's County Detention Center.

ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY: On Sept. 12 at approximately 4:50 pm., a white male, approximately 6'1", with sandy brown hair, wearing tan flip flops, kaki cargo style shorts, and a plain white T-shirt was in the Next Day Blinds Store located in the Wildewood Shopping Center. When the female employee entered a back room, the man followed her and grabbed her from behind. The suspect then stuck an object, she believed to be a gun, in her side and demanded money. She was able to break away from his control and escape out of a rear exit unharmed. The suspect then fled the store. BCI detectives are asking anyone with information on this attempted armed robbery to call them at (301) 481-7363.
