Hollywood Man Killed in Single Vehicle Accident

LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Sept. 15, 2008)—A Hollywood man is dead after a single vehicle accident in Hollywood Sunday morning. Travis Saltsman, 21, was killed when his vehicle struck a utility pole.

State Police Troopers from the Leonardtown Barrack were called to Steer Horn Neck Road, east of Sotterly Road in Hollywood on Sunday morning around 7:18 a.m. to investigate the accident. Upon their arrival, Troopers found that Saltsman's 2007 Scion passenger vehicle had left the roadway and collided with a SMECO power utility pole.

Police say speed and driver error were contributing factors in the accident.

Saltsman was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS personnel and transported to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Baltimore for a post-mortem exam. Members of the Maryland State Police Crash Team responded to the scene to assist Leonardtown Barrack personnel with this investigation.

Police say their investigation is continuing.
