LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Aug. 26, 2008) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office this week released the following incident and arrest reports.
ALCOHOL COMPLIANCE CHECK: On Aug. 23 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., Senior Deputies First Class Emory Johnson and D. Ross of the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office along with an 18 year-old confidential informant conducted an under age controlled buy for alcohol. Twelve establishments were visited with no sales of an alcoholic beverage being made to the under aged informant. The 12 establishments which successfully passed the controlled buy were: The Sign of the Whale, Charlies Deli and Pub, St. James Store and Deli, Rod N Reel, Raley's Grocery Store, Spinnaker's, St. Inigoes Mini Mart, Cooks Liquors Park Hall, St. Mary's Fine Wine and Spirits, The Stop N Shop, County Liquors and 2000 liquors.
MARIJUANA DISTRIBUTION: At the end of November 2007 a several month investigation was concluded into the distribution of marijuana from a Leonardtown home. Jeb J. McWade, 26, was arrested after a search and seizure warrant was executed on his residence. Seized at that time was a 1998 Chevrolet Pick-up truck, nearly $13,000.00 in cash, firearms, approximately two pounds of marijuana, and related distribution paraphernalia. McWade fled the area and was located in Florida. State's Attorney Richard D. Fritz authorized the extradition of McWade back to Maryland for trial. McWade is being held in the St. Mary's County Detention Center.
SENTENCING IN DRUG CASE: James Leroy Hall, A/K/A "Munchie," 34, of Lexington Park was sentenced to four years in the Department of Corrections for possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
