INDIAN HEAD, Md. (Aug. 15, 2008)—The Charles County Department of Community Services' Aging Division announced that the Indian Head Senior Center has received the 2008 Education Award from the Maryland Association of Senior Centers (MASC). The Center received the award for their Celebrating Earth Day and Going Green program, which consisted of a variety of different educational opportunities for seniors, as well as students from the surrounding community.
Activities included recycling, a joint educational session for seniors and second graders on saving the Chesapeake Bay, a craft project, and a viewing of a documentary on global warming.
The award was presented during the Annual Meeting of the MASC held at the North Carroll Senior and Community Center in Hampstead, Maryland.
