Charles County Sheriff's Reports


LA PLATA, Md. (Aug. 5, 2008) - The Charles County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ROBBERY: On August 2 at 10:30 a.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to the 3200 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf for the report of a robbery. Investigation revealed the victim, an employee of a carry out restaurant, was leaving the business to make a bank deposit when the suspects approached, sprayed him in the face with an irritant, and stole the money. The suspects fled in a vehicle and the victim called police.

One of the suspects is a black male in his mid twenties, 5'8" - 5'10", with a stocky build. The second suspect is a black female in her twenties, 5'5" - 5'8", heavy build, wearing a tee shirt that said "I Love DC", and dark pants with faded hearts on the legs. Detective G. Higgs is investigating.

STRONG-ARM ROBBERY: On August 1 at 1:50 a.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to the 2500 block of Old Washington Road in Waldorf for the report of a citizen robbery. The victim reported that he and a friend were approached by three suspects who demanded money. The victim resisted and the suspects struck him, causing a laceration to the back of his head. The suspects fled and the victim was transported to a hospital where he was admitted for treatment. The Major Crimes Unit is investigating.

CITIZEN ROBBERY: On July 31 at 4:25 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to the 7000 block of Red Squirrel Place in Waldorf for the report of a fight. Investigation revealed the victim was approached by two suspects who assaulted him and stole his money. The suspects fled in red Mercury. The Major Crimes Unit is investigating.
