Two Suspects Arrested For Shooting Outside Thai Seafood & Grill

LA PLATA, Md. (Aug. 1, 2008)—Charles County Sheriff's officers arrested two suspects in connection with a shooting that occurred outside of the Thai Seafood & Grill in Waldorf as patrons were leaving the club following a late night event last week. Detectives say the suspects fired as many as six rounds in the direction of several police officers who were providing security at the club.

On July 26 at 2:15 a.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers (in uniform) were assisting with traffic control in the parking lot when they noticed a disturbance. As the officers investigated, they heard several gunshots and observed the suspects firing in their direction. The officers attempted to stop the suspects but they fled in a car, turning off their vehicle headlights.

The suspects were stopped near Homestead Commons and five people were taken into custody. Officers recovered a 45 caliber handgun along the route the suspects fled and shell casings fired from a 45 caliber handgun were recovered in the parking lot of the club.

Two of the car's occupants, Maurice Lorenzo Foreman, 17, of Washington, DC (charged as an adult) and Stephon Snipe, 20, of Washington, DC, were charged with attempted murder and first degree assault. They were remanded to the Charles County Detention Center with no bond.

Anyone with additional information about this case is asked to call Detective S. Fetterolf at (301) 609-6497. Callers wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. The investigation is continuing.
