LA PLATA, Md. (July 28, 2008) - The La Plata Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
STOLEN VEHICLE TAG: On July 23 at approximately 1825 hours, TFC J. Edelen was on routine patrol traveling northbound U.S. 301, south of Acton Lane when he stopped Antonio Tejada-Trujillo, age 18 of Suitland, for a traffic violation. A check through MILES/NCIC revealed Tejada-Trujillo did not have a license, and the tag on the vehicle was reported stolen. Tejada-Trujillo was charged with theft under $100, operating unregistered vehicle, fail to attach plates front and back, and displaying tags issued to another vehicle.
RETAIL THEFT, ILLEGAL DRUGS: On July 24 at approximately 2015 hours, TFC J. Edelen was dispatched to Circuit City in Waldorf, for a report of a theft in progress. TFC Edelen made contact with the Manager, Godwin Eremah, when he arrived at Circuit City; was advised that the suspects had left the scene in a black Mitsubishi. TFC Edelen patrolled the area and found the Mitsubishi parked at the Old Country Buffet. TFC Edelen approached the vehicle and made contact with Richard Lee Thompson, Jr., age 21 of Waldorf, and Kiera Ashley Brien, age 21 also of Waldorf. The manager of Circuit City made a positive ID of the suspects. A search of the vehicle revealed two silver metal spoons and a needle containing cocaine residue and a baggie containing suspected marijuana. Both subjects were arrested and charged with the following: theft under $100; possession of marijuana; possession of CDS not marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
