LEONARDTOWN, Md. (July 21, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at 9:06 pm, Woody Nathaniel Ward, 31, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. C. Evans for possession of Marijuana. Mr. Ward was operating a blue Chevrolet Suburban on southbound Route 235 in the area of Rescue Lane, in Hollywood when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit. Upon contact with Mr. Ward, a moderate odor of Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Ward was found to be in possession of a partially burnt Marijuana cigarette and a small baggie of Marijuana. Mr. Ward was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 9:37 am, a male complainant, 30, of Mechanicsville responded to the Leonardtown Barrack and made contact with TFC M. Moore in reference to a Malicous Destruction of Property to his blue Mazda 626. The complainant advised the Malicious Destruction of Property occurred between the hours of 6:00 pm on July 16, 2008 and 8:00 am on July 17, 2008. The complainant advised the vehicle was parked in the driveway of his residence in the 26000 block of Friendship School Road in Mechanicsville. When he went out to leave that morning he observed gravel from his driveway on his windshield. Then he observed where unknown suspect(s) keyed both the passenger and driver sides of the vehicle in addition to the hood and rooftop. The investigation continues.
ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Friday, July 18, 2008 at 8:01 pm, Jonathan Robert Critchfield, 21, of Lusby was arrested by Tpr. C. Evans for possession of Marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Critchfield was operating a red Acura Integra on southbound Route 235 in the area of Rescue Lane, in Hollywood when he was stopped for an equipment violation. Contact was made with Mr. Critchfield and a strong odor of burnt Marijuana was emanating from inside the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, a yellow plastic cigar tube containing a Marijuana filled cigar was located in the vehicle. Mr. Critchfield was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
SON ON FATHER ASSAULT: On Sunday, July 20, 2008 at 1:16 pm, Tpr. M. Adams responded to the reported Disturbance in the 41000 block of Queen's Landing Road in Mechanicsville. Contact was made with the male complainant, 50, of Mechanicsville, who advised he was assaulted by his 17 year-old son. The juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the Leonardtown Barrack was he was processed and charged for 2nd Degree Assault. The juvenile was turned over to Juvenile Services because his parents refused to accept custody. Further action is pending by Juvenile Services.
MOTORCYCLE THEFT: On Sunday, July 20, 2008 at 5:17 pm, Tpr. E. Page responded to the Maryland International Raceway for the reported Theft of a Motorcycle. Upon arrival contact was made with the male victim, 25, of Woodbridge, VA. The complainant advised unknown suspect(s) had stolen his blue and white, 2003 Suzuki GSXR600 with Virginia registration. The VIN is JS1GN7BA532109524. The motorcycle had a " T I " exhaust system. The motorcycle was valued at $5,000. The investigation continues.
ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Sunday, July 20, 2008 at 8:11 pm, Cory Lee Miller, 22, of Great Mills was arrested by Tpr. N. Gresko for possession of Marijuana. Mr. Miller was a passenger in a brown Buick Regal on Route 235 and Route 237, in Lexington Park when it was stopped for an equipment violation. Contact was made with Mr. Miller, who was found to be in possession of a baggie of marijuana. Mr. Miller was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.
WARRANT ARREST: On Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 1:40 am, Garrett A. Fenwick, 38, of Loveville, was arrested by TFC E. Evans on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13481) for Violation of Probation which was issued by the District Court on July 1, 2008. The original charge was Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. Mr. Fenwick was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
