MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (July 18, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Monday, July 14, 2008 at 12:40 pm, Loretta Ann Myers, 23, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. N. Gresko for possession of Marijuana. Ms. Myers was operating a blue Nissan Altima when she was stopped at Route 5, at Flora Corner Road in Mechanicsville for an equipment violation. A routine MVA check revealed Ms. Myers' driving privileges are suspended and she was taken into custody. A search incident to arrest, revealed a baggie of Marijuana, two CDS smoking devices and a metal Marijuana grinder in the vehicle. Ms. Myers was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was detained pending a bond review.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 6:42 pm, Darrion Demond Hutchins, 31, of La Plata was arrested by Tpr. C. Evans for possession of Marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Hutchins was operating a white Lincoln Town Car when he was stopped on Leonard Hall Drive, at Baldridge Drive in Leonardtown for an equipment violation. During the course of the traffic stop, contact was made with Mr. Hutchins and a moderate odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Hutchins was found to be in possession of a plastic bag of Marijuana, a digital scale and a metal CDS smoking device. Mr. Hutchins was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

ATTEMPTED THEFT, DOP: On Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at 9:33 am, Tpr. E. Page responded to the 45000 block of Town Creek Shop Road in California for the reported attempted Theft over $500 and Malicious Destruction of Property. Upon arrival contact was made with the male complainant who advised unknown suspect(s) attempted to steal the catalytic converter from his red Porsche 944. Neighborhood checks were performed with negative results. The investigation continues.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT: On Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at 10:28 am, Tpr E. Page responded to the 15000 block of Point Lookout Road in St. Inigoes for the reported Motor Vehicle Theft. Upon arrival contact was made with the female complainant who advised she left her vehicle for repairs on July 15, 2008 and sometime during the night unknown suspect(s) stole her red Acura Integra from the shop. The investigation continues.

MOTORCYCLE THEFT: On Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at 1:20 pm, Tpr E. Page responded to the 23000 block of Three Notch Road in California for the reported Theft of a Motorcycle. Contact was made with the male complainant who advised he arrived at work at 9:00 am and parked his red, white and green Ducati 1098 motorcycle. At 1:00 pm the complainant went out to where he parked his motorcycle and it had been stolen. He described the motorcycle as having a color scheme in the resemblance of the Italian flag. The motorcycle also had carbon fiber exhaust system which was factory upgrade. The motorcycle also had a carbon fiber saddle bags. The investigation continues.

WARRANT ARREST: On Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 12:00 pm, David E. Strain, 21, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC R. Rezza on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13195) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on December 6, 2007. The original charge was for Possession of CDS. Mr. Strain was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 1:40 pm, Joseph Martin Blankenship, 21, of Lusby was arrested by TFC E. Evans on an Arrest Warrant (T3-13490). The original charge was Assault 2nd Degree. Mr. Blankenship was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 8:25 pm, Robert Mitchell Beall, 26, of Lusby was arrested by Tpr. N. Gresko on an outstanding Arrest Warrant (T3-13495) for First Degree Burglary. Mr. Beall was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Friday, July 11, 2008 at 1:30 am, Walter McWilliams Swales, Jr., 33, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. K. Roby on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13431) for Failing to Appear in District Court on May 23, 2008. The original charge was Driving While Suspended. Mr. Swales was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 6:29 pm, Joseph Donald Thompson, Jr., 34, of Mechanicsville was arrested by TFC M. Moore on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13493) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on June 27, 2008. The original charge was Driving Uninsured Vehicle. Mr. Thompson was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 11:30 am, Brent Sheridan Wilson, 46, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr J. Gibson on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13448)for failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on June 10, 2008. The Original charge was DWI/DUI. Mr. Wilson was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 6:22 pm, Shaun M. Cook, 20, of Hollywood was arrested by Tpr. G. Thompson on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13482) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on July 3, 2008. The original charge was for Possession of CDS. Mr. Cook was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 6:39 pm, Troy Takleta Taylor, 44, of Lexington Park was arrested by Cpl. S. Koch on an outstanding Circuit Court Warrant (T3-13498) for Failing to Appear. The original charge was Operating a motor vehicle without restraints. Mr. Taylor was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.
