LA PLATA, Md. (July 17, 2008) - The Charles County Sheriff's Department recently released the following incident and arrest reports.
DRUG ARREST: On July 14 at 7:16 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers initiated a traffic stop near Ripley Road and Route 225 after observing a traffic violation. Officers found drug paraphernalia inside the car and arrested the driver, Paul Joseph Harley, 26, of Nanjemoy, and an occupant, Shikea Williams, 26, of Pomfret. Officers recovered cocaine, marijuana and prescription drugs with a street value of over $2800. Harley and Williams were charged with possession with the intent to distribute controlled dangerous substances and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were remanded to the Charles County Detention Center. Sgt. J. Stoddard and Officers M. Van Horn and M. O'Shields investigated.
DRUG ARREST: On July 12 at 11:55 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers, working a detail, approached a man in the parking lot of a business in the 2100 block of Crain Highway after observing the man smoking marijuana. The suspect fled but was apprehended a short distance away. Officers recovered a bag of marijuana and charged Keith Darcel Goines, 28, of Ft. Washington, with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of paraphernalia, and resisting arrest. Officer D. Walker investigated.
