MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (July 17, 2008) - The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, RESISTING ARREST: On July 15 at 12:26 a.m., in the area of the Chesapeake Beach Fastop, Chesapeake Beach, Trooper R. Lewis and TFC B. Stein stopped a white 2001 Mazda 626 for a seatbelt violation. Upon requesting the driver's identification, the man (later identified as Nelson Joseph Saunier 3rd, 43 years of age, of Huntingtown) became irate, refusing to display his driver's license. After Saunier began screaming obscenities at the Troopers, and gaining the attention of citizens at the Fastop, TFC Stein informed Saunier that he was under arrest. At this time, Saunier resisted and pulled away from TFC Stein. Due to Saunier being disorderly, TFC Stein then sprayed Saunier in the face with OC pepper spray. After being sprayed with OC pepper spray, Saunier then calmed down, and TFC Stein was able to place him under arrest. Saunier was transported to the Prince Frederick Barrack for processing. He was then incarcerated in the Calvert County Detention Center.

TRESPASSING: On July 12 at 5:48 a.m., TFC Stein was dispatched to the Chesapeake Beach Water Park for the report of Trespassers. Upon arrival, TFC Stein observed three white males run southeast through the park, scaled a fence and attempted to flee. TFC Stein, after a brief foot pursuit, was able to apprehend all three males, two adults and one juvenile, 17 years of age. The two adults are identified as Robert Johnson Bowles, 18, of Chesapeake Beach, and Bradley Steven Coontz, 18, of Chesapeake Beach. Investigation revealed the teens had been consuming alcoholic beverages and swimming in the park although there were several "No Trespassing" signs posted around the property. All three males were charged with trespassing and underage consumption of an alcoholic beverage.

MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On July 12 at 3:00 a.m., TFC J. Stern responded to the Holiday Inn located at 155 Holiday Drive, Solomons, for the report of a destruction of property and theft. Upon arrival, TFC Stern contacted the victim, who stated that someone had broken into her 2004 Nissan Quest. Investigation revealed that between 5:00 pm and 7:30 pm, unknown suspect/s/ shattered the front passenger window of the vehicle and stole a Garmin GPS and cell phone charger. THEFT: On July 11, Tpr. Laziuck of the Maryland State Police, Prince Frederick Barrack arrested Donell Wesley Kitt, 41, of Hillcrest Heights, MD, on outstanding arrest warrant. Search incident to his arrest revealed revealed a credit card belonging to a female. Trooper Laziuck conducted an investigation which revealed that the victim had been shopping at Dunkirk Safeway located at 10276 Southern Maryland BLVD, Dunkirk, when Kitt removed her wallet out of her purse which was in her shopping cart. Kitt then went across the street to CVS and purchased five $100 dollar VISA gift cards with the victim's MasterCard. Kitt was charged with Theft over $500.00 and incarcerated in the Calvert County Detention Center pending bond review.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: (PCP): On July 10, Tpr. Laziuk responded to an auto collision on northbound MD Route 2/4 in the area of Brickhouse Road, Dunkirk. The driver David Wayne Michelson, 44, of Lusby, was arrested for DUI. Search incident to arrest, revealed a Newport box of cigarettes containing a cigarette that was dipped in suspected Phencyclidine (PCP). Both Michelson and the passenger, Alan Filmore Mansfield, 48, of Prince Frederick, were arrested, charged and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center pending bond review.

THEFT: On July 10 at 9:45 a.m., Trooper. Donaldson responded to 4106 3rd Street, North Beach, for the report of a theft. Investigation revealed that between the hours of 9:30 pm on 07/09/08 and 8:30 am on 07/10/08, an unknown suspect removed a North Carolina dealer tag off the back of the victim's 2001 Hyundai Accent.
