Coast Guard Suspends Search For Missing Boater

BALTIMORE (July 15, 2008)—The Coast Guard suspended its search for a missing boater, who fell overboard near Loves Point, Md., at midnight Monday.

Coast Guard Rescue crews from Station Annapolis, Station Curtis Bay, Air Station Atlantic City N.J., along with crews from the Maryland Natural Resource Police, Queen Anne's County and Anne Arundel County Fire and Rescue searched an area of 100 square miles for the man who had been seen entering the water but not resurfacing Sunday night.

"Suspending a case is one of the most difficult things for the Coast Guard to do, our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims family during this difficult time," said Capt. Brian Kelley, captain of the Port of Baltimore.
