MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (July 10, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

CHILD NEGLECT: On Sunday, July 6, 2008 at 7:42 am, Matthew Ray Frazier, 25, and Jennifer Dee Shirley, 23, both of Lexington Park were arrested by Tpr. J. Pilkerton for Child Neglect. Tpr. Pilkerton responded to the 21000 block of Windsor Drive in Lexington Park for the reported Check Welfare of two small children playing in the street. Upon arrival, Tpr. Pilkerton observed the two children, a girl, four years old and a boy, two years old playing in the street. The children were taken to their residence on Bristol Avenue. Contact was made with both the parents in the residence who were asleep. Mr. Frazier and Ms. Shirley were taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where they were charged accordingly and held pending bond review. The children were placed with Department of Social Services.

DEADLY WEAPONS: On Monday, July 7, 2008 at 1:05 am, a 17 year-old juvenile male, of Hollywood was arrested for possession of two deadly weapons. Tpr. Jefferson observed three male subjects in the area of the fuel pumps at the WAWA in the 24000 block of Three Notch Road in California. Contact was made with the subjects. One of the 17 year-old male juveniles was found to be in possession of two butterfly knives and subsequently released to a relative at the scene pending further action by Juvenile Services.

BURGLARY: On Monday, July 7, 2008 at 8:38 pm, Tpr M. Adams responded to the 26000 block of Loveville Road in Mechanicsville for the reported burglary. Upon arrival contact was made with the female victim, who advised unknown suspect(s) burglarized her residence between 9:30 am on July 6, 2008 and 8:00 pm on July 7, 2008. The suspect(s) stole a jar containing $15.00 in coins and approximately 15 feet of copper tubing valued at approximately $50.00. The investigation continues.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Monday, July 7, 2008 at 2008 at 8:47 pm, Richard Lee Hans, 46, of California was arrested by TFC M. Laney for possession of Marijuana, possession of CDS paraphernalia, DUI and DWI. Mr. Hans was operating a silver Dodge Durango on Indian Bridge Road in the area of Cooperstown Way in California when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with Mr. Hans and a moderate odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath. A search incident to arrest revealed Mr. Hans was in possession of a plastic bag of Marijuana. Hans was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 12:30 am, Joseph Lewis Weatherbee, 21, and Alyssa Lynn Weber, 22, both of Great Mills were arrested for possession of Marijuana. Mr. Weatherbee was operating a green Ford truck when he was stopped for expired registration. A routine check through North Carolina MVA revealed Mr. Weatherbee's driving privileges are suspended and he was placed under arrest for driving while suspended. A search incident to arrest revealed a glass CDS smoking device and a bag of Marijuana in the vehicle. Both Mr. Weatherbee and Ms. Weber were transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where they were detained pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 11:00 pm, Ashley Nicole Garcia, 21, of Mechanicsville was arrested by TFC M. Moore on an Arrest Warrant (T3-12941) issued by the District Court in Leonardtown on July 12, 2007. The original charge was Theft over $500 and Fraud / Identity Theft. Ms. Garcia was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was detained pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Friday, July 4, 2008 at 11:55 pm, James L. Cooper, 35, of Avenue was arrested by Tpr. G. Thompson on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-12874) for Failing to Appear in District Court on May 31, 2007. The original charge was possession of CDS not Marijuana. Mr. Cooper was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 12:15 pm, Lisa R. Sewell, 42, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC J. Fleetwood on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-12817) for Failing to Pay Deferred Payment of $300 by November 23, 2006. The warrant was issued on April 30, 2007 by the District Court in Leonardtown. Ms. Sewell was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was detained pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 6:35 pm, Lanir Zeveigenhaft, 31, of Kensington was arrested by Tpr. J. Gibson on an Arrest Warrant (T3-13487) issued by the District Court in Rockville on October 2, 2006. The original charge Assault 2nd Degree. Mr. Zeveigenhaft was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 8:55 pm, Joshua Wayne Barnes, 24, of California was arrested by Tpr. J. Gibson on an Arrest Warrant (T3-13488) issued in the District Court in Prince Frederick on June 8, 2008. The original charges were Theft over $500, Malicious Destruction of Property under $500 and Rogue / Vagabond. Mr. Barnes was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.
