LEONARDTOWN, Md. (July 8, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) on Monday released the following incident and arrest reports.
THEFT OF TAGS: On Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 7:24 am, Tpr. G. Thompson responded to the 36000 block of Joan Drive in Mechanicsville for the reported theft of tags. Upon arrival, the female complainant advised unknown suspect(s) removed both Maryland registration plates from her blue 2003 Dodge Neon. The investigation continues.
VEHICLE THEFT: On Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 4:15 pm, the female complainant responded to the Leonardtown Barrack to report that her silver 2007 Nissan Maxima, with Maryland registration was stolen. She further advised she loaned the vehicle to a male acquaintance on Thursday, June 26 and he has not returned the vehicle. The vehicle has been entered into NCIC and the investigation continues.
ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at 12:42 am, Wayne Sylvester Parker, Jr., age 44, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC M. Laney for possession of Marijuana. Mr. Parker was operating a black Chevrolet Blazer south bound Route 235, in the area of MacArthur Blvd. when he was stopped for failing to drive in a single lane. Contact was made with the driver, Mr. Parker, and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath. A routine MVA check revealed Mr. Parker's driving privileges were suspended. Mr. Parker was arrested for DWI/DUI and driving on a suspended license. A search revealed Mr. Parker was in possession of Marijuana and a CDS smoking device. Mr. Parker was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.
THEFT OF TAGS: On Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 5:10 pm, the female complainant telephoned the Leonardtown Barrack to report that unknown suspect(s) had stolen the front Maryland registration plate from her 2000 Chevrolet Express 4X2. The registration plate was last seen on the vehicle Thursday, June 26, 2008. The registration plates have been entered in NCIC and the investigation continues.
THEFT OF TAGS: On Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 10:30 am, the female complainant telephoned the Leonardtown Barrack to report unknown suspect(s) had stolen both of the Maryland registration plates from her 1999 Toyota Corolla. The registration plates were last seen the previous day. The Maryland registration plates have been entered into NCIC. The investigation continues.
ASSAULT: On Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 2:09 am, Tpr. W. Jefferson responded to the 27000 block of Mechanicsville Road in Mechanicsville for the reported disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male victim who advised he was assaulted by Jeffery Lynn Oliver, 21, of Mechanicsville. While interviewing both parties, Mr. Oliver confronted the victim and assaulted him. Tpr. Jefferson separated both parties and took Mr. Oliver into custody. He was later transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
WARRANT ARREST: On Monday, June 30, 2008 at 7:50 pm, Joseph Lavon Mason, 34, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. C. Evans on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13474) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on June 27, 2008. The original charges were Driving on Suspended License. Mr. Mason was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
WARRANT ARREST: On Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at 9:05 am, Joseph Norman Combs, 50, of Callaway was arrested by Tpr. C. Evans on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13422) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on May 23, 2008. The original charge was Driving on Suspended License. Mr. Combs was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
