MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (July 3, 2008) - The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

MAL. DEST. OF PROPERTY: On 6/1/08 @ 4:19 am, TPR M. Roy responded to several residences in the Bayside Forest sub-division for reports involving destruction of mailboxes and light fixtures at numerous residences. There are no suspects at this time. The investigation is continuing.

MAL. DEST OF PROPERTY: On 6/3/08 @ 11:12 am, TFC S. Johns responded to Jefferson Patterson Park located off of Mackall Road in St. Leonard, MD, for the report of malicious destruction of property. Upon TFC Johns' arrival, she was advised that three windows had been damaged. There are no suspects at this time. The investigation is continuing.

THEFT: On 6/4/08 @ 1:48 pm, TFC C. Bowling responded to a residence on Serenity Court, Prince Frederick, for the report of theft. Upon TFC Bowling's arrival, he was advised that a Dyno Bicycle valued at $50.00 had been stolen from the shed at the residence. There are no suspects at this time. The investigation is continuing.

MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On 6/7/08 @ 7:52 am, TFC E. Brooks was dispatched to the area of Calvert Beach Road, St. Leonard, MD for the report of a destruction of property. Upon TFC Brooks' arrival, the victim/owner of a 1999 Toyota Corolla advised him that while her vehicle had been parked on Calvert Beach Road, someone broke all four windows out for no apparent reason, No items were taken from the vehicle. The investigation is continuing.

MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On 6/7/08 @ 10:01 pm, TFC S. Johns responded to Peach Court in Lusby, reference to the report of a destruction of property. Upon TFC Johns' arrival, it was apparent that someone had poured some type of fuel onto the roadway and start a fire. The fire was extinguished by the St. Leonard Fire Department personnel. The property damaged was the asphalt on the roadway (end of a cul-de-sac). There are no suspects at this time. The investigation is continuing.

ILLEGAL DRUGS; On 6/8/08 @ 1:35 am, TFC B. Stein was in the area of West Mt. Harmony Road when he observed a 1994 Ford Ranger operating above the posted speed limit of 40 MPH. TFC Stein initiated a traffic stop in the parking lot of Mt. Harmony School. TFC Stein identified the operator to be William Thomas Dorsey, 3rd, age 34, St. Leonard, MD, and placed the operator under arrest for driving under the influence. Search incident to Dorsey's arrest revealed several packets of suspect heroin. Dorsey was placed under arrest and taken to the Calvert County Detention Center after being processed at the MSP Prince Frederick Barrack.

ASSAULT ON POLICE OFFICER: On 6/8/08 @ 5:15, Trooper K. Donaldson responded to a residence on Joshua Court, for a reported domestic assault. Upon Trooper Donaldson's arrival, he met with the victim. While speaking with the victim, the victim's husband, Jason Robert Foster, age 30 came out of the residence and began walking frantically towards the victim. I ordered Foster to stay at the residence, but he refused and replied by stating obscenities at Trooper Donaldson. When Trooper Donaldson attempted to approach the suspect, he pushed began to push away from Trooper Donaldson. Trooper Donaldson attempted to place the suspect under arrest at which time the suspect Foster pushed Trooper Donaldson again. Foster then stood up from the ground and began approaching Trooper Donaldson with clinched fists. At that time, Trooper Donaldson sprayed Foster with pepper spray which temporarily incapacitated him. Foster was then placed in handcuffs and taken to MSP Prince Frederick Barrack where he was processed and charged with Assault 2nd Degree, and 2nd Degree Assault on a Peace/Police Officer. After processing, Foster was taken to the Calvert County Detention Center.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: On 6/19/08 @ 10:07 pm, Trooper J. Stern responded to the Holiday Inn parking lot, in Solomons, for the report of a destruction of property. Upon arrival, Trooper Stern was contacted by TFC Eric Evans who was working in an off duty capacity providing security at the Holiday Inn. TFC Evans advised Trooper Stern that unknown suspect/s/ had shattered the driver's side window of a Toyota RAV 4 and stolen a Garmin GPC from the vehicle. There are no suspects at this time. Investigation is continuing.

THEFT: On 6/11/08 @ 8:00 am, Trooper Merkelson responded to the area of Fish Hawk Court in Chesapeake Beach, for the report of a theft from vehicles. Upon arrival, Trooper Merkelson was advised by several victims that unknown suspect/s/ had entered several unlocked vehicles and removed numerous items from the vehicle. There are no suspects at this time. Investigation is continuing.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: On 6/12/08 @ 10:45 am, TFC K. Greggs responded to Fox Run Shopping Center for the report of a theft. Upon arrival, TFC Greggs was advised that someone had broken the driver's side rear window of a 2004 Mercedes and stole numerous items, while the vehicle was parked in the parking lot. There are no suspects at this time. Investigation is continuing.

THEFT: On 6/19/08, @ 4:20 pm, Trooper D. Saucerman responded to Paris Estates Court for the report of two Suzuki ATV's. Upon arrival, it was noted that unknown suspect/s/ had broken into the resident's shed which was located in the back yard. Upon breaking into the shed, the suspect/s/ removed two Suzuki ATV's, both black in color. There are no suspects at this time. Investigation is continuing.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 6/13/08 @ 1:24 am, Trooper J. Wiersma initiated a traffic stop on MD Route 231 east of Skip Jack Road. Upon contact with the driver, who was identified as William Chalmers Cora, Jr., age 25, of Upper Marlboro, MD, Trooper Wiersma detected the strong odor of alcoholic on the driver. Search incident to arrest, revealed CDS marijuana. The driver was arrested for DUI, and Possession of CDS. He was taken to MSP Prince Frederick Barrack, where he was processed and then transported to the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 6/13/08 @ 1:45, Trooper B. Laziuck initiated a traffic stop on MD Route 261 in Chesapeake Beach, MD, for the operator failing to have his headlights on. Upon contact with the driver, Trooper Laziuck detected a strong odor of alcohol beverage emitting from the driver's breath. Search incident to arrest revealed a pink plastic container with suspected CDS (marijuana). The driver, Andrew Brian Brewer, age 21, Churchton, MD, was placed under arrest for DUI, and charged with Possession of CDS (Marijuana). He was processed at MSP Prince Frederick Barrack and then was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT: On 6/14/08 @ 6:59 am, TFC K. Greggs responded to Little Tree Lane in Owings, for the report of an auto theft. Upon arrival, the victim/complainant advised that sometime during the hours of 9:00 pm on 6/13/08 and 5:00 am on 6/14/08, unknown suspect/s/ entered his property and removed his 2003 Silver Chevrolet Silverado, a black 2006 Ande Utility Trailer, and a cream colored 2004 Easy-Go Golf Cart from his driveway. There are no suspects at this time. The investigation is continuing.

MSP SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT: On June 25 and 26, 2008, members from the Prince Frederick Barrack softball team played in the 33rd Annual MSP Softball Tournament which was held at Pinecliff Park in Frederick, Maryland. Out of 20 teams, the Prince Frederick Barrack finished in 4th place. D/Sergeant A. Paton received the All Tournament Trophy from the Prince Frederick team.
