LA PLATA, Md. (June 25, 2008) - The Charles County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: On June 24 at 11:42 a.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to Penns Hill Road near Knollcrest Lane in La Plata for the report of a motor vehicle crash. The investigation revealed a 16-year-old male from La Plata who did not possess a valid drivers license was operating a vehicle south on Penns Hill Road when he lost control of the car, which left the roadway and struck a tree. The car overturned and the victim, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected. He was transported to Prince Georges Hospital Center where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Officer M. Burrows of the Traffic Operations Unit is investigating.
POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On June 24 at 7:58 p.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to Revels Place and Reeder Place in Indian Head after receiving a report of a possible drug transaction. When officers arrived, they initiated a traffic stop on a gold Chevrolet Malibu and found crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia in the car. The three occupants, Charles Anthony Rossi, 21, of Charlotte Hall, Theresa Lynn Skatzes, 35, of Indian Head and Charles Robert Keeler, 48, of Waldorf, were arrested and charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession with the intent to distribute. They were being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner. Officer M. Bourgeois investigated.
