Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (June 23, 2008) - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On June 16 at 12:43 a.m. Dep. Andrew Woodford approached a vehicle parked at Seahorse Beach in the Chesapeake Ranch Estates in Lusby. He made contact with the male in the driver's seat. Dep. Woodford detected an odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. All four occupants of the vehicle were asked to exit. A search revealed suspected marijuana in a small baggie and drug paraphernalia. Woodford subsequently charged a 17-year-old male from Hollywood on a youth report with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, a partially smoked tobacco cigar. He was released to a parent.

THEFT: A gray and black Schwinn bicycle valued at $350 and a purple and silver Magna bicycle worth $250 were both stolen from the yard of a home on Rio Grande Trail in Lusby on June 17 between 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. A neighbor reports seeing four black males enter the victim's yard and take the two bikes. Dep. Christopher McDonough is investigating.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Dep. Justin Livingston arrested Charles Benjamin Stewart, 36 of Lusby, outside of Skores Bar and Grille on June 18 at 1:23 a.m. and charged him with disorderly conduct. Livingston had responded to Skores for a fight in progress. While trying to conduct an investigation into the assault and disperse a large crowd that had gathered, Stewart would not cooperate with police and became loud and disorderly.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: Dep. Andrew Woodford was conducting a patrol check of the area of Double Oak Road off Dares Beach Road in Prince Frederick on June 19 at 6:30 p.m. He observed a vehicle parked at the end of the road. After obtaining consent to search the vehicle, he discovered suspected marijuana and a multi-colored glass smoking device used to inhale marijuana into the body. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Sarah Renee Marple, 18 of St. Leonard, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

THEFT: A victim on Carla Drive in Huntingtown advised DFC Paul Wood that unknown suspect(s) entered his unlocked vehicle sometime between midnight on June 19 and 5:00 a.m. on June 20 and stole a HP Compaq Turion laptop computer worth $1100, a Sony PSP portable game player worth $200 and two games for the player valued at $30. The victim also stated that another vehicle parked in his driveway appeared to have been rummaged through but nothing was taken. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC Wood at 410-535-2800.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: After conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle on June 20 at 2:50 a.m. at Md. Rt. 4 and Main Street in Prince Frederick, Cpl. Anthony Moschetto observed suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. He subsequently arrested Ashley Nicole Simmons, 22 of Lusby, the driver of the vehicle and charged her with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, a syringe, used to inject heroin into the body. Two passengers in the vehicle were also found to be in possession of drugs. Katie Michelle Warren, 23 of Hollywood, was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia, a syringe. The front passenger, Elijah James Arneson, 28 of Lusby, was also arrested and charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia, a syringe.
