MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (June 19, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT: On Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 2:50 pm, Tpr. G. Thompson responded to the 21000 block of Colton Point Road in Avenue for the reported Theft over $500.00. Upon arrival contact was made with the female complainant who advised unknown suspect(s) stole an undetermined amount of cash from the residence between May 7th and June 7, 2008. The investigation is ongoing.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 4:56 pm, Francis Xavier Thomas, Jr, 25, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. C. Evans for possession of Marijuana. Mr. Thomas was operating a gray Oldsmobile when he was stopped for an equipment violation. Tpr. Evans made contact with the Mr. Thomas, the driver of the vehicle, and a faint odor of burnt Marijuana was detected. Mr. Thomas was found to be in possession of two zip lock baggies containing five partially burnt Marijuana cigarettes. Mr. Thomas was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Friday, June 13, 2008 at 1:14 am, Ashley Marie Lowmiller, 19, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC E. Evans for possession of CDS (prescription medication) and DUI. Ms. Lowmiller was operating a white Pontiac Grand Am on Route 235 in the area of Route 237 in California when she was stopped for a traffic violation. During the course of the traffic stop, contact was made with Ms. Lowmiller and an odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from her breath. Ms. Lowmiller was found to be in possession of Xanax prescription medication. Ms. Lowmiller was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review.

CONCEALED DEADLY WEAPON: On Friday, June 13, 2008 at 5:25 pm, Tpr. G. Thompson initiated a traffic stop on a gray Buick on Route 246, at S. Shangri La Drive in Lexington Park for an equipment violation. Contact was the driver, Barry Cedric Stout, Jr, 25, of Lexington Park, and a strong odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Stout was found to be in possession of a concealed deadly weapon (brass knuckles) and no CDS was found in the vehicle. Mr. Stout was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

DUI: On Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 1:13 am, Anthony Raymond Degiacomo, III, 20, of Dundalk was arrested by TFC E. Evans for failing to obey a lawful order and disorderly intoxication. Mr. Degiacomo was a passenger in a green Honda Civic when it was stopped for a traffic violation on Route 235, at Shady Mile Road in California. The driver of the vehicle, Joseph Robert Stritch, 20, of Dundalk was arrested for DUI. Mr. Degiacomo was intoxicated and became disorderly on the roadside and was subsequently arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Sunday, June 15, 2008 at 12:19 am, Thomas Ralph Featherall, Jr, 45, of Fort Washington was arrested by TFC P. Trossbach for possession of CDS Phencyclidine (PCP) and Oxycodone. Mr. Featherall was operating a red Oldsmobile when he was stopped for a traffic violation on Route 5, south of Mohawk Drive in Charlotte Hall. Contact was made with Mr. Featherall and a slight odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath and person. Mr. Featherall was found to be driving under the influence of CDS. He was later found to be in possession of CDS Phencyclidine (PCP) and Oxycodone. Mr. Featherall was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review.

BURGLARY: On Monday, June 16, 2008 at 6:31 am, TFC M. Moore responded to the 46000 block of Dennis Point Way in Drayden for the reported Burglary and Theft over $500.00. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant who advised unknown suspect(s) broke a window in the French Doors and entered the Torpedo Bar and Grill where a safe was stolen valued at $200.00. An estimated $3,000.00 in cash was in the safe when it was stolen. The investigation is continuing at this time.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Monday, June 16, 2008 at 8:28 pm, Ronald Joseph Elswick II, 18, of Mechanicsville was arrested for possession of CDS paraphernalia. Tpr. J. Pilkerton initiated a traffic stop on a white Ford Explorer on Mechanicsville Road, west of Grander Court in Mechanicsville for exceeding the posted speed limit. When contact was made with the driver, Mr. Elswick, a distinct odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Elswick was found to be in possession of a grinder. Mr. Elswick was charged on a Criminal Citation. Mr. Elswick was released at the scene.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 1:20 am, Mark Anthony Burch, 38, of Leonardtown was arrested by TFC E. Evans for possession of Cocaine. Mr. Burch was operating a red Honda Accord on Route 235 at Route 4 in California when he was stopped for failing to drive in a single lane. Contact was made with the driver, Mr. Burch and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath. Mr. Burch was arrested for DUI/DWI. A search incident to the DUI arrest revealed Mr. Burch was in possession of a bag of Cocaine. Mr. Burch was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

DWI/DUI, RESISTING, ASSAULT ON POLICE: On Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 11:19 pm, Andrew Stamey, 27, of Mechanicsville was arrested by TFC P. Trossbach for DWI/DUI, resisting and assault on police. Mr. Stamey was operating a tan Honda Accord on Fairgrounds Road, east of Route 5 in Leonardtown when he was stopped for failing to drive in a single lane. Contact was made with the driver, Mr. Stamey and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath and person. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Stamey attempted to flee on foot when he resisted arrest and assaulted TFC Trossbach. Mr. Stamey was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Friday, June 13, 2008 at 4:30 pm, Jacqueline Marie Harris, 22, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. M. Adams on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13453) for Failing to Appear in District Court on June 10, 2008. The original charge was driving on a suspended license. Ms. Harris was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was detained pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 11:25 am, Robert Wade Norwood, Jr., 26, of Hollywood was arrested by Tpr. W. Jefferson on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13444) for Violation of Probation which was issued by the District Court in Leonardtown on June 6, 2008. The original charge was for Theft under $100.00 and driving while impaired by alcohol. Mr. Norwood was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
