Md. NRP Police Reports


ANNAPOLIS (June 18, 2008) - The Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) yesterday released the following incident and arrest report. NRP is the enforcement arm of the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). NRP is the only police force aside from the Maryland State Police that has statewide jurisdiction.

ALCOHOL VIOLATIONS: On Friday, June 13, at 1:24 a.m., NRP charged two adults and two juveniles with alcohol violations in the campground of Cedarville State Park. NRP entered the campsite to investigate a quiet hour noise violation.

Brain K. Shaffer, 20, of Charlotte Hall and Victoria A. Young, 18, of Waldorf were each charged with possession of an alcoholic beverage by a person under 21 years of age. They were released on their signatures.

The juveniles, a boy and a girl, both 17, and of Waldorf were referred to the Department of Juvenile Services for possession of an alcoholic beverage by a person under 21 years of age. They were released to parents at 3:30 a.m.
