MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (May 27, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE: On Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at 5:54 pm, TFC E. Evans responded to the 23000 block of Scotch Pine Court in California for the reported Theft from Motor Vehicle. Upon arrival contact was made with the male complainant who advised unknown suspect(s) broke into his 2004 gray Volkswagen and stole a Garmin GPS, a checkbook and $6.00 in change. Total amount stolen was $256.00. The investigation continues.

SUSPENDED LICENSE, ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 2:50 am, Rebecca Lee Gooslin, 42, of Leonardtown was arrested by Tpr. M. Adams for possession of Cocaine. Ms. Gooslin was operating a blue Hyundai Santa Fe on Route 5 and Abell Street in Leonardtown when she was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit. A routine check through MVA revealed Ms. Gooslin's driving privileges were suspended. Ms. Gooslin was arrested for driving on a suspended license. A search incident to the arrest revealed she was in possession of Cocaine. She was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review.

THEFT: On Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 11:09 am, the male complainant made contact with TFC K. Lashley at the Leonardtown Barrack regarding the Theft of his utility trailer. The complainant advised he last saw the trailer on May 19, 2008 at 8:30 am. The trailer is a 2007 homemade flat bed trailer, is black in color with a split, two piece fold down gate and wooden floor. The left fender is bent and was displaying Maryland registration 957188G. The trailer has been entered into NCIC and the investigation continues.

THEFT: On Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 11:42 am, Tpr. G. Thompson responded to the reported Theft over $500.00 from the Taco Bell in California. During the course of the investigation, contact was made with the female complainant who advised unknown suspect(s) stole two deposit bags with approximately $1,352.11 in cash from the establishment. The investigation continues.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 1:09 pm, a 16 year-old male juvenile was arrested by Tpr. J. Pilkerton for possession of Marijuana. Tpr. Pilkerton responded to Leonardtown High School for the reported CDS complaint. Contact was made with the assistant principal, who advised he received a call from a concerned citizen. The assistant principal recovered a plastic bag of marijuana from the juvenile. The juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the Leonardtown Barrack where he was processed and later released to his mother pending further action by Juvenile Services.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Friday, May 23, 2008 at 10:03 am, Carin Marie Lockhart, 24, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. W. Jefferson for possession of CDS not Marijuana. During the course of the traffic stop, contact was made with the driver, a 23 year old male of Mechanicsville. A plastic bag of Marijuana was observed in plain view in his jacket pocket and he was taken into custody. A search incident to arrest revealed that he was also in possession of CDS smoking device and Ms. Lockhart was in possession of 15 Percocet pills. A routine check through NCIC revealed Ms. Lockhart was also wanted by the Sheriff's Office in Caroline County. The original charge on the bench warrant was failing to appear for theft under $500 and possession of CDS not Marijuana. Ms. Lockhart was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was charged accordingly and detained pending a bond review. Charges on the male subject will be forth coming pending application of criminal charges.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Friday, May 23, 2008 at 11:56 pm, Deandre Terrille Taylor, 19, of Chaptico was arrested by TFC M. Laney for possession of marijuana. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Taylor was operating a green Ford Crown Victoria on Route 235 in the area of Town Creek Drive in California when he was stopped for an equipment violation. A K-9 scan was performed by K-9 Siko. A positive alert was given by the K-9 Siko in the area of the rear passenger seat. TFC Laney found a plastic bag of marijuana in the area of the rear passenger seat. Mr. Taylor was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

ILLEGAL DRUGS, SUSPENDED LICENSE: On Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 9:58 am, Justin Damon Adams, 29, of Waldorf was arrested by Tpr. N. Gresko for possession of a multicolored glass CDS smoking device with marijuana and driving on a suspended license. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Adams was stopped as a result of not being restrained by his seat belt. A routine check through MVA revealed his driving privileges were suspended and he was arrested for driving while suspended. A search incident to the arrest revealed a CDS smoking device was found in the vehicle. Mr. Adams was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
