MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (May 22, 2008) - The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT/SHOPLIFTING: On 5/8/08 @ 8:11 pm, TFC C. Dawson responded to the Walmart in Prince Frederick, regarding a shoplifting complaint. Upon his arrival, two juveniles from Huntingtown and Prince Frederick, were observed by security personnel at Walmart attempting to remove merchandise from the store. Both juveniles were charged with Theft under $500, and shoplifting. Both juveniles were released to their parents custody.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On 5/2/08 @ 4:56 pm, TPR A. Merkelson responded to Kirksville Lane behind the WaWa in Dunkirk, regarding a suspicious vehicle. TPR Merkelson made contact with three juveniles in a black color Chevrolet. Further investigation of the subjects revealed that one of the juveniles, age 17, had CDS in his position. Two of the juveniles were released without charges, and a third juvenile was charged with possession of CDS.

BURGLARY: On 4/30/08 @ 12:33 pm, TFC S. Johns responded to the 4200 block of Sixes Road regarding a burglary of a private residence. Upon TFC Johns' arrival, it was noted that an unknown suspect(s) had broken a door window to gain entry into the residence. This burglary occurred during the day between 11:00 am and 12:10 pm on 4/30/08. The suspect(s) did not remove any property from the home. The investigation is continuing by TFC Johns.

MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On 4/30/08 at 11:30 pm, TFC M. Murphy responded to the 6200 block of Hallowing Lane in Prince Frederick. Upon TFC Murphy's arrival, he observed the front windshield of a 1992 Nissan had been broken, and the front and rear windshield of a 1998 Honda was also broken. This incident occurred while the residents were home. The time of the destruction of property was 11:25 pm. There are no suspect(s) at this time, but the investigation is continuing.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: On 4/28/08 @ 5:47 pm, TPR A. Merkelson responded to Bunkhouse Road in Lusby, regarding a theft from vehicle. Upon TPR Merkelson's arrival, it was noted that sometime between 4/27/08 @ 11:30 pm to 4/28/08 @ 9:00 am, unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked vehicle and removed several items. There are no suspect(s) at this time. The investigation is continuing.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 5/8/08 @ 3:05 am, TPR J. Wiersma arrested Thomas Michael Stanley, age 24, of Huntingtown, on an arrest warrant. Search incident to his arrest, TPR Wiersma located a CDS smoking device on Mr. Stanley. Stanley was charged with the arrest warrant, and Possession of CDS paraphernalia. Stanley was processing at the Prince Frederick Barrack and then taken to the Calvert County Detention Center waiting to be heard by the District Court Commissioner.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 5/8/08 @ 4:37 pm, TFC C. Dawson responded to the 1900 block of Norfolk Drive in Owings for an unknown problem at Stevenson Pools. Upon his arrival, TFC Dawson observed a white male, later identified as Brett Evan Ward, age 44 of North Beach, walking along MD Route 4. TFC Dawson and TPR Merkelson approached the subject, and detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on Ward's breath. Ward admitted to both troopers that he had in fact driven his vehicle to Stevenson Pools. Ward was subsequently arrested for DUI, and search incident to his arrested, revealed a small plastic baggie which contained suspect CDS Marijuana. Ward was charged with possession of CDS, and was taken to the Calvert County Detention Center to be seen by a District Court Commissioner.

THEFT: On 5/6/08 @ 9:42 am, TPR A. Merkelson responded to Walmart in Prince Frederick for a theft call. Upon arrival, TPR Merkelson was advised by Walmart's security that two suspects, Frances Ivy Talbott, age 25 of Lusby, and Kristin Fay Wilson, age 24 of Arlington, Va., had attempted to remove items from Walmart without paying for them. Both suspects were placed under arrest, and processed at the Prince Frederick Barrack. Search incident to their arrest, revealed CDS and CDS paraphernalia. Both subjects were transported to the Calvert County Detention Center to be seen by a District Court Commissioner.

BURGLARY: On 4/23/08 @ 5:37 pm, TFC K. Greggs responded to the 1500 block of Isle Court in Prince Frederick. It was determined that someone had broken into a private residence on 4/23/08 between 8:00 am and 5:37 pm. Several items were removed from the residence which valued at $1879. Through TFC Greggs' investigation it was determined that Patrice J. Claude Sidney, age 20 of Prince Frederick, had broken into the residence and taken the items. Sidney was arrested and charged with burglary. Sidney was taken to the Calvert County Detention Center to be seen by a District Court Commissioner.

Thomas Edward KIGER, age 38 of Dunkirk, MD arrested by TPR A. Merkelson on 5/5/2008

Ashlynn Elizabeth KRENKE, age 38 of Mechanicsville, MD arrested by TFC M. Murphy on 5/7/2008

Brett Evan WARD, age 44 of North Beach, MD arrested by TFC C. Dawson on 5/8/2008
