MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (May 07, 2008) - The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

BURGLARY TO SHED, THEFT: On April 29, 2008, Trooper Donaldson responded to Dot Lane in Huntingtown for a reported burglary to the victims shed and the theft of two power tools. The victim’s shed was forced open. A “Partner” brick power saw and an 18” Poulan Chain Saw were stolen. Anyone with information related to this case is asked to call the Maryland State Police at (410) 535-1400.

BURGLARY, THEFT: On April 24, 2008, Trooper First Class Murphy was dispatched to Bandera Lane in Lusby for a reported burglary and theft at a vacant residence. Neighbors advised they observed a strange vehicle at the victim’s residence. The vehicle was described as a primer gray Chevrolet S-10 truck with “nice wheels” and occupied by two white males. A refrigerator and a dishwasher were stolen from the residence. Anyone with information related to this case is asked to call the Maryland State Police at (410) 535-1400.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On April 20, 2008/2008 at approximately 3:19 a.m., Trooper First Class Bowling stopped a Jeep Liberty for an equipment violation on Rt 4 just north of Solomons. The driver, Jeriel Matthew Brannon, age 25, from Purcellville, Va., was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. A search of Brannon’s vehicle revealed marijuana and a pipe with marijuana residue. Brannon was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF OXYCOTIN: On May 4, 2008, Trooper Donaldson stopped a Black Toyota Corolla on Fairgrounds Road in Prince Frederick after the vehicle was observed crossing the center line. The driver Brandon David Nims, age 29, from Huntingtown, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. A search of Nims after the arrest revealed an Oxycontin tablet in his pocket which he did not have a prescription for. Nims was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and incarcerated in the Calvert County Detention Center.
