MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (May 1, 2008, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

SUSPENDED LICENSE, ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Monday, April 28, 2008 at 1:35 am, Kelli Jo Anna King, 37, of California was arrested by Tpr. M. Pitcher for possession of CDS / Prescription Medications. Ms. King was operating a black Hyundai on Route 235, in the area of Old Rolling Road in California when she was stopped for an equipment violation. A routine MVA check revealed Ms. King's driving privileges are suspended. Ms. King was taken into custody for driving on a suspended license. A search incident to the arrest revealed she was in possession of a Schedule III and Schedule IV narcotic not prescribed to her. She was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was detained pending a bond review.

STOLEN HIGHWAY SIGNS: On Monday, April 28, 2008 at 11:30 am, Tpr. J. Pilkerton responded to the State Highway Administration District Office in Loveville for the reported Theft Under $500.00. Contact was made with the female complainant who advised two "Adopt a Highway" Boy Scout Troop 1782 signs were stolen. One sign was stolen from south bound Route 5, in the area of Thompson Corner Seafood and the other sign was stolen from north bound Route 5, across from Mechanicsville Road in Mechanicsville. No further information is available and the investigation continues.

FLEEING, ELUDING, DUI, DWI: On Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 9:20 pm, Matthew Eugene Clements, 21, of Valley Lee was arrested by TFC Trossbach for Fleeing and Eluding and DUI/DWI. TFC Trossbach was patrolling Drayden Road in Valley Lee when he observed a white Buick Riviera exceeding the posted speed limit. TFC Trossbach pursued the vehicle with speeds exceeding 100 mph. Mr. Clements turned onto St. Mary's Manor Road where the Buick struck a mailbox and continued to flee. A short time later the vehicle was stopped and Mr. Clements was arrested for DWI/DUI. Mr. Clements was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged with Fleeing and Eluding, Hit and Run Motor Vehicle Accident and DWI/DUI.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 9:58 am, Marcus E. Lawson, 21, of Mechanicsville was arrested by TFC R. Rezza for possession of Marijuana. Mr. Lawson was operating a black Dodge Charger on Route 5 in Mechanicsville when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit. During the course of the traffic stop, contact was made with Mr. Lawson and a distinct odor of Marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Mr. Lawson was found to be in possession of a partially burnt Marijuana cigarette. Mr. Lawson was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Monday, April 28, 2008 at 6:10 pm, Brian Matthew Wheedleton, 20, of Hollywood was arrested by Tpr. N. Gresko on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13380) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Calvert County on April 23, 2008. The original charge was for Driving on a Suspended License. Mr. Wheedleton was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Monday, April 28, 2008 at 1:25 pm, Michael Lewis Dixon, 28, of Great Mills was arrested by TFC J. Fleetwood on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13372) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on April 22, 2008. The original charge was Driving on a Suspended License. Mr. Dixon was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Monday, April 28, 2008 at 7:15 pm, Keith Randall Nelson, 35, of Leonardtown was arrested by TFC M. Laney on an outstanding Arrest Warrant (T3-13346) for Malicious Destruction of Property Over $500.00. Mr. Nelson was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 11:04 am, Daniel Scott Brown, 23, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC R. Rezza on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13381) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on April 25, 2008. The original charge was Driving on Suspended License. Mr. Brown was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
