INDIAN HEAD, Md. (April 22, 2008)—On Sunday, April 13, 320 pets showed up with their owners to take advantage of free rabies vaccinations being offered at the Indian Head Village on the Green. The event was co-sponsored by Charles County Animal Control Services, the Charles County Health Department, and the Humane Society of Charles County.
Veterinarian Dr. Mark Hocking donated his time to inoculate the animals. The Town of Indian Head donated the location.
Officials in Charles County say the number of confirmed cases of rabies in wild animals has increased in the last two years.
