St. Mary's County BCI Police Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (April 23, 2008) - The St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) today released the following incident and arrest reports. BCI is an investigative team comprised of detectives from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office and the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack. The unit was established on July 1, 2003 and is based in Leonardtown, Maryland.

ROBBERY, ASSAULT: On April 22 at approximately 8:45 p.m., a male and female were walking through a wooded area near Timber Valley Court in Lexington Park when they were confronted by three men, one of which displayed a handgun and demanded money. The male victim was struck on the head with the gun and the female victim's purse was taken before all three suspects fled. In the early morning hours of April 23, BCI detectives arrested Zachary Allan Kiger, 19, with no fixed address and Cordell Rayshawn Mackall, 19, from Lexington Park. Both were charged with armed robbery and theft and incarcerated at the St. Mary's County Detention Center. The third suspect, described as a black male with a heavy build, is still at large. The investigation is continuing. Neither victim required medical attention.

HOME INVASION: On April 23 at approximately 5:30 A.M., police responded to Elegant Court in Lexington Park for the report of a home invasion. The two occupants of the home report two black males, wearing dark clothing, broke into their home through a rear door. Once inside, the male occupant confronted the intruders and a struggle ensued. The suspects then fled. There were no serious injuries reported. BCI detectives are currently investigating the incident.
