MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (April 14, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 2:09 pm, Brian Keith Stapleton, 20, of Great Mills was arrested by Tpr. M. Pitcher for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. Mr. Stapleton was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for an equipment violation. When contact was made with the occupants a strong odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Stapleton was found to be in possession of two baggies of Marijuana and a digital scale with Marijuana residence. Mr. Stapleton was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

CONCEALED WEAPON, SUSPENDED LICENSE: On Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 10:35 pm, Oscar Richard Tyer, Jr., of Bushwood was arrested to TFC L. Nims for possession of a concealed deadly weapon. Mr. Tyer was operating a Red GMC Yukon when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit on Route 5 south of Route 243 in Leonardtown. During the course of the traffic stop, contact was made with Mr. Tyer and an odor of Marijuana was emanating inside the vehicle. Mr. Tyer was found to be in possession of an ASP Baton, concealed in the vehicle. A routine check through MVA revealed Mr. Tyer's driving privileges were suspended in Maryland. Mr. Tyer was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Friday, April 11, 2008 at 5:52 pm, Daniel Jason Russell, 29, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. G. Thompson for possession of Marijuana. Mr. Russell was operating a red Ford Bronco on Flora Corner Road in Mechanicsville when he was stopped for not being restrained by his seatbelt. A moderate odor of Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Russell was found to be in possession of a baggie of marijuana. Mr. Russell was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and detained pending a bond review.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 9:00 pm, Stephon Raysean White, 23, and Christian Desean White, 20, both of Lexington Park were arrested by Tpr. G. Thompson for possession of Marijuana. Mr. Stephon White was operating a silver Honda Civic on Route 246 in the area of S. Essex Drive in Lexington Park when he was stopped for an equipment violation. During the course of the traffic stop, contact was made with the driver and a strong odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Stephon White and Christian White were found to be in possession of Marijuana cigarettes and were taken into custody. They were transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where they were detained pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at 1:30 am, Dionte Anjuan Little, 26, of Waldorf was arrested by Tpr. J. Gibson on an outstanding Circuit Court Warrant (T3-13342) for Failing to Appear in Circuit Court on March 31, 2008 . The original charge was exceeding the posted speed limit. Mr. Little was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Friday, April 11, 2008 at 3:00 am, Charles Clayton Beach, Jr., 31, of Fort Washington was arrested by TFC R. Rezza on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13328) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on March 20, 2008. The original charges were Unlawful Taking of a Motor Vehicle, Theft Over $500.00, Burglary 4th Degree (2 counts) and Malicious Destruction of Property. Mr. Beach was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Friday, April 11, 2008 at 10:00 pm, Alfonzo Drake Washington, 50, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. C. Evans on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13323) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on March 18, 2008. The original charge was Driving on a Suspended License. Mr. Washington was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review. Tpr. C. Evans also served Mr. Washington an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13357) for Failing to Appear in District Court in La Plata on February 25, 2008. The original charge was Driving on a Suspended and Revoked License. He was held at the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
