MSP Reports for Charles County


LA PLATA, Md. (April 11, 2008) - The La Plata Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) recently released the following incident and arrest reports.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On April 1, at approximately 10:01 p.m., TFC W. Jenkins stopped Russell Hayward Walker, 21, of Upper Marlboro, for a traffic violation, smelled the odor of marijuana, searched the vehicle and occupant, and recovered a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana. Walker was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

THEFT OF VEHICLE TAGS: On April 3, at approximately 10:00 a.m., TFC S. Murphy stopped Robert Louis Hicks, Jr., 40, of Prince Frederick, for a traffic violation and received confirmation for stolen registration plates. Hicks was arrested and charged with theft.

RESISTING ARREST, DISORDERLY: On April 5, at approximately 1013 p.m., Trooper R. Wilt stopped Michael Agugua Egwuatu, 22, of Woodbridge, VA, for a traffic violation. The passenger, Christian Labenz Henderson, 19, of Indian Head, exited the vehicle. An altercation ensued and Henderson was charge with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, failure to obey a lawful order. Egwuatu was charged with disorderly conduct, failure to obey a lawful order, and obstructing/hindering.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On April 6, at approximately 12:08 a.m., Trooper R. Wilt responded to Denny’s Restaurant for multiple subjects not paying their bill. Upon his arrival he located both subjects, Orlando Tyler Harper, Jr., 19, of Ft. Washington, and Jessica Marie Brashears, 18, also of Ft. Washington, sitting in the parking lot in a vehicle. Upon contact with the subjects, Tpr. Wilt observed a plastic baggie with suspected marijuana. Both subjects were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
