LEONARDTOWN, Md. (April 11, 2008) - The St. Mary's County Public Schools on Wednesday announced that the last day of school for students will be Monday, June 9, 2008. The last day for teachers will be Tuesday, June 10, 2008.
Two school days were lost this school year due to inclement weather conditions. This allows the school year to be shortened by three days since not all five inclement weather days were used, say school officials.
June 4 will be a regular day of school with all AM and PM Prekindergarten students attending school on a normal schedule. June 4 will be the last day of school for PM Prekindergarten students.
June 5 will be an early dismissal day with AM Prekindergarten students attending school. PM Prekindergarten sessions will not be held on June 5.
June 6 will be an early dismissal day with AM Prekindergarten students attending school. PM Prekindergarten sessions will not be held on June 6. June 6 will be the last day of school for AM Prekindergarten students.
June 9 will be an early dismissal day. Prekindergarten students will not have school on June 9.
School officials say other adjustments to the calendar will be necessary if additional school days are lost due to inclement weather or emergency situations.
