Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (April 7, 2008) - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT OF ATV: Dep. Thomas Rickard responded to Binnacle Court in Lusby on March 30 at 12:30 p.m. for a theft call. The complainant advised that she observed a young male riding up and down the road on her children's 2006 Sahara 4-wheeler. When confronted by her and another witness, the suspect became disorderly and hostile and took off on foot. Rickard observed the suspect standing with a group of juveniles at the end of Binnacle Court and made contact with him. The suspect, later identified as Christopher A. Bysheim, 20 of Lusby, was arrested and charged with theft and disorderly conduct.

DOP: Two juveniles were observed writing graffiti on a side door to the Prince Frederick Library on Costley Way. Dep. Sarra Daniels responded on April 3 at 8:10 p.m. and an employee advised that the two juveniles had left the area before they could be confronted. The damage was minimal and not permanent. Dep. Daniels will continue the investigation.

ASSAULT: Dep. April Litteral responded to the Chesapeake Hills Country Club on April 4 at 1:30 p.m. for a firearms complaint. The complainant, an employee of the club, reported that he had been shot at with a BB gun while on the fairway near the 10th hole. He observed 2 juveniles shooting from what appeared to be a tree house. He advised that this has been an ongoing problem. Dep. Litteral is continuing the investigation.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: After conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle on northbound Md. Rt. 4 and Cove Point Road in Lusby on April 4 at 2:00 a.m., Dep. Moises Velasquez found the driver, later identified as Jamar D. Mackall, 31 of Prince Frederick, to be driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. A search incident to arrest revealed suspected marijuana. Mackall was charged with DUI and possession of marijuana.

DISORDERLY: A neighbor called police after they heard a woman out in front of the house next door yelling and cursing. Dep. Moises Velasquez responded at 12:55 a.m. on April 5 and found Heather M. Malamphy, 18 of Huntingtown, who appeared intoxicated. Malamphy was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

DOP: DFC David Denton responded to a home on Shamrock Court in Port Republic and the victim advised that sometime between April 5 and April 6, unknown suspect(s) had smashed out the passenger side window to his vehicle. The damage is estimated at $300. Nothing appears to have been taken. DFC Denton will continue to investigate.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: While conducting a routine traffic stop on Md. Rt. 4 southbound near Main Street in Prince Frederick on April 5 at 12:53 a.m., Dep. Jason Dean charged Brendan D. Lumsden, 21 of Huntingtown, with DWI/DUI. A search incident to arrest revealed suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia (metal pipe). He was also charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
