St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (April 4, 2008) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest report.

POSSESSION OF COCAINE: On April 2, 2008 Dfc. Anthony Whipey conducted a traffic stop on a Mazda Protégé at the intersection of Yorktown Road and Kearsarge Place in Lexington Park, Maryland. The driver failed to use a proper signal when turning. As Dfc. Whipkey approached the vehicle he observed the driver reach under his seat. Dfc. Whipkey contacted the driver, identified as Sean Marino Goins, 25 of Leonardtown. Mr. Goins was nervous and unsure of his destination. As Dfc. Whipkey was speaking with Mr. Goins, Dfc. Whipkey observed a clear, plastic baggie containing a white powered substance (suspected cocaine) on the rear floor board of the vehicle. Goins was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, cocaine.
