LEONARDTOWN, Md. (March 24, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Wednesday, March 19 at 11:30 am, Travares Lavelle Brown, 25, of Great Mills was arrested by TFC E. Evans for possession of Marijuana. Mr. Brown was operating a white Chevrolet Caprice on Route 235 south of Route 246, when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit. During the course of the traffic stop, TFC Evans made contact with the driver, Mr. Brown and a strong odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Brown was found to be in possession of a Marijuana cigarette. He was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
BURGLARY: On Wednesday, March 19 at 4:26 pm, TFC R. Rezza responded to a reported Burglary in the 25000 block of Loveville Road in Leonardtown. Upon arrival contact was made with the female complainant, who advised she is house sitting a neighbor's residence and noticed the window air conditioner was removed from the window and laying on the ground. A check of the residence revealed unknown suspect(s) damaged the air conditioner valued at $250.00, a bathroom sink and vanity, valued at $200.00 and stole approximately 10 feet of 1/2" cooper tubing from the residence. The tubing has an estimated value of $50.00. Total damages to the residence were $500.00. The investigation continues.
ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Thursday, March 20 at 4:32 am, Tpr. C. Evans was responding to a reported Disturbance in the 45000 block of Short Way in Lexington Park. Upon arrival, contact was made with Corey Lee Miller, 22, of Great Mills who was attempting to flee on foot. During the course of the investigation, Mr. Miller was found to be in possession of a baggie of Marijuana. Mr. Miller was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
BURGLARY, THEFT: On Saturday, March 22 at 1:02 pm, Tpr. K. Roby responded to the 43000 block of Sandy Bottom Road in Hollywood for the reported Burglary and Theft of an ATV. Contact was made with the male complainant, 48, of Valley Lee who advised unknown subject(s) enter the barn and took a green 2007 Sportsman Polaris 800 ATV 4 wheeler, serial No. 4XAMH76A47A933804. Attached to the ATV was a gray hard case measuring 18" x 24". This case was bolted to the ATV for mounting a camera. The ATV is valued at $8,200.00 and the investigation continues.
ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Sunday, March 23 at 12:05 am, Jerome Antonio Herbert, 21, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. C. Evans on Route 237 south of Robinson Lane in Great Mills for possession of Cocaine. Mr. Herbert was operating a silver Pontiac Grand Am when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit. As Mr. Herbert was bringing the vehicle to a full stop, a small plastic baggie of Cocaine was observed being thrown from the driver's side. The plastic bag of Cocaine was located in the north bound lane of Route 237 across from Robinson Lane. Mr. Herbert was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and detained pending a bond review.
WARRANT ARREST: On Tuesday, March 18 at 6:00 pm, Monte C. Burroughs, 42, of Hyattsville was arrested by TFC P. Trossbach on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-12909) for Violation of Probation / Failing to Pay Restitution in the amount of $1,000.00. Mr. Burroughs was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and detained pending a bond review.
WARRANT ARREST: On Tuesday, March 18 at 7:50 am, Jesse Earl Pritchett, 34, of Hughesville was arrested by TFC J. Fleetwood on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13319) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on March 14, 2008. The original charge was Driving on a Suspended License. Mr. Pritchett turned himself in at the Leonardtown Barrack and was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review.
WARRANT ARREST: On Wednesday, March 19 at 11:30 am, Christopher Neal McCray, 23, of Washington, DC was arrested by Tpr. D. Brill on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13165) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on November 20, 2007. The original charge was DWI/DUI. Mr. McCray was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
