LEONARDTOWN, Md. (March 20, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
STOLEN JEWELRY: On Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 6:47 pm, TFC J. Fleetwood responded to the 28000 block of Gosling Court in Mechanicsville for the reported Theft over $500.00. Contact was made with the female complainant who advised jewelry was missing from the residence. The missing jewelry was identified as 1 pair of diamond hoop earrings with 5 round diamonds, 1 ct. each, 14 ct. yellow gold, valued at $4,500.00; an Anniversary ring with 27 diamonds, 9 rows of 3 round diamonds, value $2,999.00, and a Marquise diamond wedding ring surrounded by round and baggettes, 14k yellow gold, value $9,469.00. Total loss is $16,968.00.
ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 6:10 pm, Bryan Anthony Knott, 18, of Great Mills and a 17 year old male juvenile, of Piney Point were arrested by TFC P. Trossbach for possession of Marijuana. Mr. Knott was operating a silver Pontiac Grand Am north bound Route 249 in Valley Lee when he was stopped for speeding. During the course of the traffic stop, a strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Knott was found to be in possession of Marijuana and a silver electronic digital scale. The male juvenile was also in possession of a plastic bag of Marijuana. The juvenile was released to his father pending further action by Juvenile Services. Mr. Knott was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 1:35 am, Latoshia Nadine Johnson, 23, Christopher Eugene Hall, 24, both of Lexington Park and Brenda Larine Brawner, 31, of Waldorf were arrested by TFC L. Nims for possession of Marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. All three subjects had exited a black Honda Civic at the WAWA at Route 235 and Route 4 in California. As TFC Nims was walking by their vehicle, he detected an overwhelming odor of burnt Marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. During the course of the investigation all occupants of the vehicle were found to be in possession of Marijuana. Ms. Johnson, Ms. Brawner and Mr. Hall were charged accordingly and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where they were detained pending a bond review.
ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 3:50 pm, Phillip Michael Clark, 31 of Baltimore was arrested by TFC L. Nims for possession of Marijuana, Hash and CDS paraphernalia. TFC Nims performed a routine MVA check on the registration plates which revealed the plates were suspended. Mr. Clark was operating a white Honda station wagon when he was stopped on south bound Route 5, north of Golden Beach Road in Mechanicsville. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Clark was found to be in possession of a glass mason jar half full of marijuana. Also in the jar was some hash wrapped in aluminum foil. A multi colored CDS smoking device was also found in the vehicle. Mr. Clark was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 8:00 pm, Christopher Allen Proctor, 24, of Leonardtown was arrested by TFC M. Laney for possession of Marijuana and CDS paraphernalia in addition to driving on a suspended and revoked driver's license. Mr. Proctor was operating a white Mercury Marquis on south bound Route 5, in Charlotte Hall when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit. A routine MVA check revealed Mr. Proctor's driving privileges were suspended and revoked. Mr. Proctor was taken into custody. A search incident to the arrest revealed Mr. Proctor was in possession of approximately 28 hand rolled Marijuana cigarettes, a metal Marijuana grinder with Marijuana residue and a plastic drink bottle containing Marijuana residue. Mr. Proctor was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review.
ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Sunday, March 16, 2008 at 5:47 pm, Shawn Patrick Douglas, 31 of Waldorf was arrested by TFC P. Trossbach for possession of Marijuana. Mr. Douglas was operating black Honda Civic on south bound Route 5, in the area of the Loveville Post Office. A routine MVA check revealed Mr. Douglas' driving privileges are suspended in Maryland. Mr. Douglas was placed under arrest for driving on suspended license. A search incident to the arrest revealed Mr. Douglas was in possession of a plastic baggie of Marijuana. Mr. Douglas was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review.
ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Monday, March 17, 2008 at 12:50 pm, William Mervin Zumbrum, Jr., 57, of Lusby was arrested by Tpr. C. Evans for possession of Marijuana, a CDS smoking device with Marijuana residue and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Zumbrum was operating a silver Mercury Grand Marquis south bound Route 235, north of Route 245 in Hollywood when he was stopped for an equipment violation. During the course of the traffic stop, contact was made with Mr. Zumbrum and a strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Zumbrum was found to be in possession of Marijuana, a CDS smoking device with Marijuana residue and CDS paraphernalia. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.
ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 1:11 am, Jon Christopher Powless, 25, of Mechanicsville was arrested by TFC P. Trossbach for possession of Marijuana. Mr. Powless was operating a teal Honda Civic when he was stopped at Old Village Road and Mechanicsville Road in Mechanicsville for failing to drive right of center. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Powless was found to be in possession of Tupperware container with a small quantity of Marijuana and a metal CDS smoking device containing Marijuana residue. Mr. Powless was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention and held pending a bond review.
ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at 11:41 am, Travares Lavelle Brown, 25, of Great Mills was arrested by TFC E. Evans for possession of Marijuana. Mr. Brown was operating a white Chevrolet Caprice on Route 235, south of Route 246 in Lexington Park when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit. During the course of the traffic stop, contact was made with Mr. Brown and a strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Brown was found to be in possession of a Marijuana cigarette. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
