Two Charged With Making False Robbery Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (March 18, 2008) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department recently released the following incident and arrest reports.

BCI detectives investigating an alleged February 14 armed robbery on Liberty Street in Lexington Park, determined the robbery did not occur. On March 12, detectives charged a 17-year-old juvenile from Lexington Park with making a false statement to a police officer. The juvenile had originally reported that he had been robbed at gunpoint while walking to his home.

BCI Detectives investigating an alleged March 1 robbery on Fenwick Street in Leonardtown, determined that the robbery did not occur. On March 17 detectives charged Stephane George Jaffres, 45, from Leonardtown, with making a false statement to a police officer, by serving him a Criminal Summons. Jaffres had originally reported that he had been attacked and robbed while he was outside emptying his trash.
