Charles County Sheriff's Reports


LA PLATA, Md. (March 10, 2008) - The Charles County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.

BURGLARY: On March 9 at 6:17 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the American Legion located at 4345 Livingston Road in Indian Head for an intrusion alarm. Upon arrival, officers discovered suspect(s) had forced entry into the building through a front window. A representative from the legion responded and determined nothing had been stolen during the burglary. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 301-743-2222 or Charles County Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. Officer K. Newman is investigating.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On March 9 at 1:45 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Boston’s Pizza located at 10440 O’Donnell Place in Waldorf for the report of a large fight in progress. Upon arrival, officers observed numerous people fighting in the bar area of the restaurant. As officers worked to disperse the crowd and arrest the people who were fighting, one officer deployed pepper spray and another officer was assaulted. The incident continued outside the business and one officer deployed his Taser when a patron refused to comply with the officer’s orders. Less than 15 minutes later, officers had arrested 10 patrons including:

Ryan Patrick Keane, 24, of Waldorf for disorderly conduct

Lindsay Marie Ingolia, 25, of Waldorf for disorderly conduct and failure to obey a lawful order

Angel Renee Adams, 28, of Harwood, Md., for disorderly conduct

Henry Roger Mayle, 40, of White Plains for disorderly conduct and failure to obey a lawful order

David Ralph Dohoney, II, 26, of La Plata for disorderly conduct and failure to obey a lawful order

Sokoni Kelechi McArthur, 28, of Waldorf for disorderly conduct and failure to obey a lawful order

Candace Anne Butler, 35, of Waldorf for disorderly conduct and failure to obey a lawful order

Erin Anita Keane, 27, of Mechanicsville for disorderly conduct and second-degree assault

Thomas Edward Murphy, 27, of Pomfret for disorderly conduct and failure to obey a lawful order

Daniel Paul Miller, 24, of Bowie for disorderly conduct and failure to obey a lawful order

Emergency medical services personnel responded to the scene but no one was seriously injured. The arrested individuals were transported via the Sheriff’s Office’s paddy-wagon to the Charles County Detention Center, where they were being held pending appearances before the district court commissioner. Officer T. Yates investigated.

DRUNK DRIVER ARREST: On March 9 at 12:25 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s Sgt. J. Powell observed a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction on Cobb Island Road in Cobb Island. She attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver proceeded to Piedmont Drive and pulled into a driveway. The driver realized he was in his neighbor’s driveway but when he attempted to back up, his vehicle struck Sgt. Powell’s police cruiser. There was no damage to either vehicle and no one was injured. Sgt. Powell determined the driver, John Gordon Paul, 50, of Cobb Island, was intoxicated and arrested him. Paul was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while intoxicated and driving the wrong direction on a one way road. He was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner.

ROBBERY: On March 8 at 11:05 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Rednecks Saloon and Grill located at 4680 Crain Highway in White Plains for the report of a strong-arm robbery. Investigation revealed four males approached a 24-year-old Leonardtown man and demanded money. When the victim refused to comply, two of the males beat him and grabbed his wallet. The suspects stole money from the wallet and fled the scene. The suspects are described only as three white males and a black male. The robbery does not appear to be random. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-2222 or Charles County Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. Officer M. DePaulo is investigating.

DRUG ARRESTS: On March 7 at 6:21 a.m., members of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office’s Community Policing (COPS) Unit, Emergency Services Team and K9 Unit served a search warrant at a residence in the 2700 block of Marlette Place in Waldorf. The search warrant was the result of a drug investigation being conducted by the COPS Unit. Officers found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the home and arrested the resident, Kiona Sharreka Savoy, 24. Shaquone Anthony Johnson, 19, of Waldorf, who was also at the residence, was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia as well and was subsequently arrested. He had attempted to flee the residence through a back door when officers arrived at the residence but he was quickly apprehended by a K9 team. Savoy was charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Johnson was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending appearances before a district court commissioner. The recovered marijuana has an estimated street value of $300.
