LA PLATA, Md. (March 3, 2008) - The Charles County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.
DRUG POSSESSION: On March 2 at 6:10 a.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle stopped in the middle of the road at the intersection of Glymont Road and Cedar Lane in Indian Head. Upon arrival, Officer M. O'Shields observed a Buick passenger car in the middle of the road with its headlights on and saw the driver slumped over in the driver's seat. Investigation revealed the driver, Alvoid Wright Hamilton, Jr., 30, of Capitol Heights, was intoxicated. Hamilton was arrested and a subsequent searched revealed he was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Hamilton was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving under the influence, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, driving an unregistered vehicle and improperly displaying vehicle registration. He was released from the Charles County Detention Center on his personal recognizance.
INTOXICATED DRIVER: On March 2 at 1:11 a.m., Charles County Sheriff's Officer M. Bourgeois stopped a Subaru passenger car driving erratically in the 3900 block of Livingston Road in Bryans Road. Investigation revealed the driver, Gloria Ann Carter, 46, of Waldorf was intoxicated and her license had been suspended. Carter was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and driving while suspended. She was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner.
DRUG POSSESSION: On March 1 at 1:37 a.m., Charles County Sheriff's Officer M. Bourgeois stopped a Cadillac passenger car for a traffic violation at the intersection of Matthews Road and Route 210 in Bryans Road. Investigation revealed the driver, Keith Lamont Carter, 22, of Bryans Road, was in possession of marijuana and Ecstasy. Carter was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of Ecstasy. He was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner.
