LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Feb. 25, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Thursday, February 21 at 12:58 am, Sanjah Leah Hunt, 23, of Mechanicsville was arrested by TFC T. Quade on south bound Route 235 in Lexington Park. Ms. Hunt was operating a silver Honda Accord when she was observed exceeding the posted speed limit. During the course of the traffic stop, contact was made with the driver, Ms. Hunt and a strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Ms. Hunt was found to be in possession of a corn cob CDS smoking device and a small baggie of marijuana. She was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review.
ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Thursday, February 21 at 10:04 am, Christopher Michael Kemp, 25, of Leonardtown was arrested by TFC L. Nims for possession of Marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Kemp was operating a red Chevrolet Astro-van when he was stopped for not being restrained by his seatbelt on Route 5 at Route 245 in Leonardtown. During the course of the traffic stop, TFC Nims made contact with the driver, Mr. Kemp and an odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Kemp was found to be in possession of Marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Kemp was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Friday, February 22 at 9:43 pm, Mary Lee Little, 43 of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC L. Nims for possession of CDS (prescription medications not prescribed to her). Ms. Little was operating a silver Chevrolet Blazer when she was stopped on Route 235 at Airport View Drive in Hollywood for failing to drive in a single lane. Ms. Little was arrested for DWI. A routine check through NCIC revealed she had an outstanding warrant through the Calvert County Sheriff's Office. A search of vehicle incident to the arrest revealed Ms. Little was also in possession of pill bottle containing Ephedrine. Ms. Little was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review.
ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Saturday, February 23 at 9:37 pm, Jeremy Michael Carr, 20, of Mechanicsville was arrested by TFC P. Trossbach for possession of Marijuana. Mr. Carr was stopped while operating a black Chevrolet Blazer on Mechanicsville Road in the area of the Moose Lodge in Mechanicsville for exceeding the posted speed limit. During the course of the traffic stop, contact was made with the driver, Mr. Carr and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from the vehicle and his breath. Mr. Carr was subsequently arrested for DWI. An odor of burnt marijuana was also present in the vehicle. A search incident to the arrest revealed Mr. Carr was in possession of a baggie of Marijuana. A routine check of MVA revealed Mr. Carr's driving privileges were suspended in Maryland. Mr. Carr was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
WARRANT ARREST: On Wednesday, February 20 at 8:06 pm, Benjamin Franklin Jenkins, 20, of Waldorf was arrested by TFC K. Shughart on an outstanding Circuit Court Warrant (T3-13175) for Violation of Probation / Possession of a Regulated Firearm which was issued on November 20, 2007. Mr. Jenkins was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.
WARRANT ARREST: On Thursday, February 21 at 8:10 am, Mary Christine Keller, 45, of Lusby was arrested by TFC L. Nims on an outstanding Circuit Court Warrant (T3-13284) for Failing to Appear on February 15, 2008. The original charge was Conspiracy and 1st Degree Assault. Ms. Keller was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review.
WARRANT ARREST: On Sunday, February 24 at 3:25 AM, Julius Roceann Andrews, 24, of Fort Washington was arrested by Tpr. J. Pilkerton on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13294) for Failing to Appear in District Court in La Plata on February 15, 2008. The original charge was Driving on Suspended License. Mr. Andrews was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.
