LA PLATA, Md. (Feb. 20, 2008) - The Charles County Sheriff's Department released the following incident and arrest reports.
HATE CRIME: On Feb. 16 at 8:53 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Benjamin Stoddert Middle School at 2040 Saint Thomas Drive in Waldorf for the report of vandalism. Upon arrival, officers discovered KKK, Dope Boys and several other phrases had been spray painted on the side of the school. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-7777. Officer K. Newman is investigating.
DRUG POSSESSION: On Feb. 14 at 5:14 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s Officer M. Tyner stopped a suspicious vehicle in the 100 block of Jenkins Road in Indian Head. Investigation revealed the driver, Tyler James Coghlan, 18, of Indian Head, was in possession of marijuana. He was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. He was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner.
